Defeating Ozma At Level One.

Okay, this is my insanely, ambitious idea:

I PLAN TO TRY AND BEAT OZMA AT LEVEL ONE.

I'm not sure if this has been attempted by anyone in this forum yet, but I know people in other forums have (although, not all were successful). There's only one problem: I don't have disk four. However, if needs be, I have a friend who's cousin works in GameStop. He said that if I need any disks for the game, I will be able to order them off him.

So, with that cleared up, I'm open to the expected x number of posts saying that I will be unsuccessful in my objective and to questions about how I will pass cetain parts of the game.

dude thats ambitious don't get me wrong i wish you luck and all but first you don't even have the game for a start and how do you plan to get past all the battles and bosses in the game without levelling up eh?

Okay, that's two questions.

One: Incorrect. I DO have Disks one, two and three. So I can get started. And I have also ordered disk four so I should have that in x weeks.

Two: Almost all battles can be run from, and those that can't be run from are usually boss battles where I won't earn EXP, but AP. As for the forced battles, you can avoid leveling up by inflicting status effects on your characters or enemies (example: Petrification on enemies or Virus on characters). I also expect to get by it with alot of luck. I also expect to have to reset my console x number of times.

Good luck man, but seriously Ozma at lv.1?! I had to level up to near 60 to even be in his league! Insane but hey give it a shot.

I can guarantee that you won't win without cheating, but I do wish you luck in getting that far without levelling. Take pictures of your TV as you go along; crop them, and post them up here so we can watch your progress.

I can't fathom how you'd get past disc two, let alone ON disc two, but it's worth a shot.

I agree with the screenshots idea. I hope to see proof of your accomplishments. But seriously you will have to cheat some how to do it. As i remember there are quite a few unavoidable battles in which you have to win Zidane will have to level up in one. I know i sound negative but man I wish you luck. You're going to need it.

No, there will be absolutely no cheating involved. Yes, there are some unavoidable battles in the game but I have ways of getting past them.

Let's take the battle at Gizamalukes Grotto with the Black Mages as an example. During the Festival Of The Hunt, you can steel a Needle Fork for Quina from the Zaghnol. You can Synthesis that with a Glass Buckle for Add Status and Petrify the Black Mages. It's a long shot but it can be done.

And, I will take screenshot's and hopefully a video of the fight with Ozma.

Someone must've done it already or he claims he done it. Anyway, there's a guide at gamefaqs that you'll probably already have if not hope it's usefull to ya.

Okay, I have begun my adventure to get to Ozma and defeat it at level one.

Okay, I have gotten out of Alexandria and past the Plant Brain and Plant Spider battles. Right now, I am in the cave in the Ice Cavern where the Moogle is frozen. I have run into difficulty while trying to defeat Black Waltz #1 and the Sealion. The Black Waltz #1 is not a problem. However, the Sealion is proving to be a very worthy opponent. When I go into the battle, my Trance gauge is close to it's limit. With luck, I can get two strikes in on the Black Waltz #1 before I have to heal, but by that time, I'm usually in Trance. So that's one turn wasted in Trance. Then, I use Tidal Flame to hit the both of my enemies. The Black Waltz #1 dies, but the Sealion's circular object on it's beck goes red meaning it automatically uses Tsunami and then an attack of it's choice. To survive this, I need to be on 100 HP or more, but I'm always on about 60-70 HP, meaning KO. But there is some good news. I have thought up of two methods that might help me defeat it. I'm going to try them now and hopefully update you all on how I'm doing tonight.

Wow I'm not sure if you'll be successful in your goal or if defeating him in level 1 is even possible but... good luck! ^_^

Yeah, it is really annoying and it is torture, but if I do it, all that torture will be well worth it.

UPDATE: Okay, I have to restart my game because I cannot find a way to get by the Sealion. My Trance gauge is too near the limit and I don't have enough time to kill the Black Waltz #1 and then do one attack on the Sealion before I get my Trance (which, by my calculations, means I will be able to kill it instantly with Tidal Flame).
