I'm not sure if this topic has already been covered, but I'll thread it anyway.

Well what can I say, what does everyone think of this game? And how do you think it compares to The second story for PS1? (easily one of the best RPG's ever)

Well, I'm currently downloading every episode with a torrent and it's at 76% so I'm starting to get excited, but I've already seen the first 8 episodes before now, which I enjoyed very much. I thinhk this is an excellent anime, although it has one downside to it. The ending. The anime ends at the end of disk 1, which I think sucks, it should have gone onto disk 2 to nede and done the four fields and gone to feanor tower at the end.

Anyway anyone else agree with me? What do you think of this anime if you have seen it, and how does it compare to the RPG?

The game is pretty good, even though I've never played it. I'm not going to watch the anime until I play the games either. I was about to move this thread to the gaming forum, but then I thought "Oh yea.. it's an anime too. =P"

So, it ends on End of Disk 1, then? I was DLing it some time ago until my comp died, so I have the first few episodes. The intro was cool, and Dias was a sight to behold. Sadly, the game only has as main characters

, which makes it not so cool. Someone there has nice moves in the game, but here he's just a wimp with a weird barrel fixation. And the other? Suddenly, she became a, ahem, "easily attracted by males" kind of girl. Plus, her crest to cast spells (which is explained on the game, so I won't mention) is placed near her, uh, you know what downstairs? And the main character? Only one pitiful technique, and it is only the first skill. But, they do stick a lot to the original. Adding pieces of the anime to the game as cutscenes would be nice if someday Squeenix wants to remake it. Out of all those little problems, the episodes are nicely done.

Though I'm a bit angered at something...why couldn't be

be part of the main cast and were relegated to supporting cast, as it was the case with Dias?

I'm in total agreement with you. On Dias, I'm not too bothered about Opera and Leon..... But thats your opinion.

You can find it at animesuki.com. Which is an index for unlicensed anime.
I think I'll probably download it soon, just to have it.

sadly...nope, animesuki has removed Star Ocean EX because it has been licensed

Yeah it is licensed, I have seen it in video/music store that I would always visit in Chicago. They have had it for several months before I left, which was like 9 months ago. So you can probably find it at a Suncoast or Coconuts, which is specific to Chicago I think. I don't recall seeing it at the Best Buy, but they do not always have a best selection, but they are getting better. Best Buy is sponsering an Anime Expo apparently, so hopefully this will mean you will find more anime there.
