FFT/FFTA Helpline
I just realized that there wasn't one of these yet, and... y'know, of all the FF's out there, FFT is probably the one that really needs one of these. They seem to work in other forums pretty well, so I figure it wouldn't be a bad idea to get one started here.
So if anybody has any questions/problems/need advice for a battle/need advice for your party in general/etc. go ahead and ask here. Or else AIM me. I love talking about this game, so don't feel like you're being a burden. I'm sure there are also other people out there who'd be willing to answer your questions too. I'm not quite as well versed on FFTA as I am on FFT, but if you ask FFTA questions I'll do my best to answer them anyway. |

Good call. And where you lack in FFT:A knowledge, I'd like to think that I can possibly make up for it. Or not. But I'll try. Anyway, no idea why there hasn't been a helpline in here before. |

Yes, I too will volunteer for FFT:A because I own it and have beaten it. So I'll try to help the best I can with the game and any questions that people will have and such.
I don't really have any questions for T, persay, but I'd like to know the recommended level to learn Zodiac?

I don't know about recommended levels - besides, it will vary depending on what you leveled up as. Instead, let's look at how much HP you need to survive it. Zodiac does damage equal to:
(Elidibs's_Faith/100) * (Your_Faith/100) * Elidibs's_MA * 96 According to the Deep Dungeon Guide on gamefaqs, Elidibs has 69-71 Faith (lets just call it 70) and 15 MA. This means that Zodiac will cause... .7 * (Your_Faith/100) * 15 * 96 = 10.08 * Your_Faith ...damage. If you have 40 faith, that's 432 damage. With 70 faith, that's 705.6 damage. Yeoch. Fortunately, you have defenses. This is where MagicDefendUP and Shell come in. Each of those drops the damage by 2/3, so 432 * 2/3 * 2/3 = 192 and 705.6 * 2/3 * 2/3 = 313.6. Ahh, much better. A good way to think about it is that Zodiac will do 10.8 * 2/3 * 2/3 * Your_Faith damage. So in order to find out how much HP you need to survive it... HP > (4.8 * Your_Faith), or HP/Faith > 4.8. If your HP is more than 4.8 times your faith, then you should be able to survive Zodiac as long as you have MagicDefendUP and Shell set. So just look at the HP and faith of your guys to see if you're ready to go after Elidibs yet. If you're worried about surviving the rest of the battle, don't be. I've never done it, but I've heard it's cake, and learning Zodiac is the only hard part. Still afraid? Remember that Elidibs is vulnerable to Stop. Mwahaha... |

Heh. I already have a trick from an FAQ that I have. It says to use MP Switch, so that the MP Takes damage rather than the HP taking damage. Didn't think of that, did you?
![]() But yes, I shall try to remember that. I think I'll level up a bit more before I give it a try. I just hope the battleground is grass type so I can use Hell Ivy, or perhaps, I should have a Time Mage ready to use Stop. =D Edit: Another question. ...Shall I keep or 'Dispose' of Worker 8? Not sure... He seems capable enough, but eh.. I never really use him, lmao. Edit: Nevermind. I'm using him more frequently now. Cid is level 87, and I don't want him going past that, so Steel is the only one strong enough to be the backup in Cid's place.

Well, if you don't use him, by all means dump him. He may be one of the hidden characters, but you don't gain anything by having him, aside from a really strong physical specimen that destroys stuff. The ending won't change just because you have him.

Yes, that's true. Same for all the other characters. Though, I just edited my post saying that I use him more now. And damn.. he kicks ass. xD
Though, there's a trick also. You know how Cloud's Bio is missing in the Brave Story? Well, save your game.. then dump cloud. That's right.. dump him. Then you'll get to read his Biography. Then...turn off/on the game so you get cloud back. =D

Hmmm...I always wondered why my generic Summoner couldn't learn Zodiac. Maybe it was because I always cast Innocent on it...
Anyways, I finished FFT:A and have linked once or twice, so feel free to ask anything FFT:A. And I have also finished FFT like 2 times, by restarting, besides, I'm restarting it one more time making Ramza a Wizard and training him on Magic. |

i think one of the biggest problems to ffta is the increased evasion
70% chance to hit someone from the front? i hear more of the *miss* than i do slicing, and thats just wrong o and it took forever to get double sword they could have made that game so much better, but it has ruined the name of fft |

Does someone have the complete script for Tactics Advance? I can`t beat the last boss and my friend wants the game back so he can sell it. I just wanna read the story after the final boss.

There's one on gamefaqs.com. It's not complete (in fact, it only goes up to the end of the third mission) but keep checking back over time and maybe it will get finished.
Otherwise, you could google for it and do a bit of poking around. If there's one on the internet at all, you should be able to find it. |

Well, I'm not sure exactly what kind of advice you're looking for, but I'd be willing to help with anything I can.
Do you need help getting in? Beat the game up until the final dungeon, then head to Warjilosntohawhatever (the city in the southeast corner of the map) and visit the Bar to unlock the Deep Dungeon. Do you need help winning the battles? If you're having a lot of trouble and want the easy way out, bring Orlandu. If you want my preferred method, bring a handful of Chemists and Archers along. The irregularities of the terrain in the Deep Dungeon swing the battle in favor of those who can attack at a distance, so you'll find bows and guns very handy. Since you often start with a massive elevation advantage, park your archers up there and snipe a bunch. Do you need help finding items or exits? Go to gamefaqs and look for a Deep Dungeon guide. If you can be more specific, I can give you more detailed advice. |
