MGS3 (ps2)- see character thread about its awesomeness

Sonic 1 (genesis)- see above

GTA3 (ps2)- this got the whole ball rolling. I love it cause it's so heavily NYC based, and last time we checked, I'm from NYC, so I can relate extra well to the names and locations.

Toejam and Earl (genesis)- very quirky game about aliens and humans. you have to play it to understand it.

gunstar heroes (genesis)- awesome 2d sidescroller, simply brilliant.

mariokart doubledash (cube)- awesome cartoony racer. not much thought has to be put into anything like tuning, so its a great pick up n play.

gran turismo 3 (ps2)- havent played 4 yet, but this is an awesome realistic racer, despite the insanely hard lisencing tests for a rally license.

timesplitters 2 (ps2)- comedy, shooting shit, monkeys, dinosaurs, busty ladies, and a grim reaper. who could ask for anything more. totally blows halo/2 out of the water in sheer weapon variety and character designs. plus it has a sick mapmaker.

NHL 94 (genesis)- cause they took out the fighting, but you can still do that thing where you make Gretzky's head bleed.

NHL all star hockey 98 (sega saturn)- the only game on my saturn I still play. it's become my drug of choice as of late. I'm pissed cause my Islanders are a paltry 17-1 in the full 82 game season. I want perfection damnit

I suppose I'll jus tpost my top ten of all time so far, as we know that there is so much more to gaming than the ps2.

Earthbound (Super Nintendo) - A humourous game with great story and characters. The music in this game is some of the weirdest game music I've ever heard. Some hate the battle system but that's only because they overlook some of nice ideas included in it.

Final Fantasy Tactics (Playstation) - This game steered my future in gaming like few others. Great story, music, gameplay and characters combine to make a great experience.

Metroid Prime (Gamecube) - Few games are able to inspire awe the first time you enter a lush overworld so atmospheric it stays true to the metroid feel of making you feel alone on a gigantic planet with the odds against you. A nice break from the normal first person style of gaming that is produced nowadays and a welcomed one.

Psychonauts (PC) - To some it might almost be a typical platformer, but its true beauty lies in the twist of gamplay through psychic powers and its great sense of humour. There will be few moments as remembered as "The Milkman Conspiracy."

Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past (Super Nintendo) - Just about everyone has their favorite zelda title, and this is mine. Great dungeon design coupled with fun mechanics and style help to propel the last 2d console zelda as the best one.

Shenmue (Dreamcast) - Although some may scoff at it's laid back style, the fun to be had with this game is enormous. From the little details to the big picture this game is completely enjoyable.

Super Mario World (Super Nintendo) - This was a damn tough choice. Between this, 3 and world 2, some of the best sidescrolling platforming is to be had. Great gameplay mechanics coupled with a great environment set this one on the top. I guess I'm just a sucker for the forest levels.

Nights (Sega Saturn) - Back in the days Naka used to shine with his games. This is a purely awesome example of that. One of the best Saturn games, it's a ton of fun with a nice visual style.

Gunstar Heroes (Sega Genesis) - The side scrolling shooter is not far from dead nowadays but back in the day there were many great entries. This is one of those special ones. Very hectic with great gameplay, visuals, and co-op it could make any day a blast.

Kirby SuperStar (Super Nintendo) - It is just UNBELIEVABLE how much awesome was packed into a small super nintendo cart. This was really a mix of a few kirby games which led to a great mixture of gameplay. Varied worlds and goals really sets this one apart from the others.

I know that there are a lot of other great ones that I either forgot, haven't played, or just didn't have room. But I will put out honorable mentions to Resident Evil 4 (Gamecube) and for my sports title Ice Hockey (NES).
