You know, in final fantasy 1 & 2 dawn of souls they had a monster by the name of orthros. Sound familiar? And when you fight ultra in the opera house at level thirty and you have sabin's new weapon you buy in a town nearby in final fantasy 3/6, he dies in one hit. Cool huh?

If you're really high level, almost anything will die in one hit, including Kefka. To me, being so powerful that the game ceases to be a challenge takes a lot of the fun out of it (wait, I take that back... it takes all the fun out if it). But I've been over this in other threads before, and besides, it's just my opinion. If you enjoy having levels twice as high as necessary to fight enemies, than by all means go for it.

Its amazing how such an insignificant part of the story can cause so many battles. But yeah, i agree that ultros was more for comedy relief. However, it is Square's nature to use bosses, summons, weapons and cid over and over for other FFs...

hey was a wimp each time i fought him but that was because the first time i fought him my characters, Terra, Edgar, Banon, and Sabin were lvl 50. On the lete river keep going the wrong direction and you'll keep fighting random things, one attack wasted him, then the second, third, and final time were a sinch

We searched for it, and we found it. The world isn't perfect, and the law is incomplete. Equivalent Exchange doesn't encompass everything that goes on here. But I still choose to believe in its principle: that all things do come at a price. That there's an ebb, and a flow, a cycle. That the pain we went through did have a reward and that anyone who's determined and perseveres will get something of value in return, even if it's not what they expected. Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth. It's an equation. Your output has to be of equal mass and materials to what you started with. The base elements have to be similar too. Like the radio I fixed - I couldn't make it bigger, or a tree, or something. 98% of teens have tried smoking pot and drinking. I whas at level 99 when I beat ultros at the lete river. It whas on the playstation version. My brother had a controler on wich you could select certain buttons, those buttons would be pressed over and over again. So when you come to a split in the river and press A you go wrong, when fighting use the memory and let everyone attack exept banon, he must heal each time. So I let my comp on for 24 hours. Letting them go in circles and letting them fight automatily and tadaaaa, level 99!

Anyone else think this is one of the hardest bosses to fight early on in any FF game?
I'm about level 12-13 with Banon on 10, i take it i have to go back and do a lot more levelling up? Because he's killed me about three times now. Tempted to look at a walkthrough to see where i'm going wrong. |
