Anime Parody RP Idea

Considering how the last RP of mine turned out, I did not really want to do another RP. However, this idea came to me. It is quite different from anything I have done before, the way I like it. And I am leaving completely open ended. To the point.

As the title says, my idea was to have an Anime Parody RP. I am not saying to pick out one anime and doing a parody, but the anime genre completely. Pull out all of the cliche, steretypes that you always see in anime that you almost come to expect. Take them all and have some fun with it, not taken completely serious, but serious enough to have some direction. If anyone has seen Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi, they should have a bit of an idea.

Right now it is not much more than an idea, a though I had. I do not have any direction in it other than to have some fun. Anime is often an off wall, out of left field style at times, other times its serious to the point and deep and profound. So we can take some of both and see where it goes.

Some intial thoughts were episodic style, where its short little stories, some conflict and resolved at the end. Rather traditional for many anime. Means a story can end in like maybe 40 posts or less depending on things.

Another thought was considering Anime is a picture based medium you have either animation or manga, so you see everything that happens. Things we are used to seeing like sweat drops, falling up side down, flames in the eyes, huge heads, some of the things we find entertaining we can bring into the writing. Its a lot to take in and think about considering it has a wide range of possibilities. But if anyone is interested, lets see what we can sort out.

However, I maintain that this is not a RP for everyone, you must have reasonable writing skills. I will look over you RPs to get an idea of your skills.

Well then, there must be at least three Japanese girls in schoolgirl uniforms (with miniskirts!) for this to be a true parody.

You already know my opinions on this one, so whenever you decide upon a setting and a premise, I'm game.

Well I had already planned on playing some sort of School Girl to fill in for the that part. Though at the moment, characters can wait a little bit. Need to find what direction that we want to take before knowing what sort of character.

So Loco got any interests you wanted to explore, there is so many styles to choose from. You have your School Romance Drama, Super Powered Characters, Occult, Fantasy, Mecha/Giant Robot, and the list just goes on and on.

I had you on probation in Poulus, and having bar that in mind. I am going to have to say, no you cannot join the RP. You are going to have to spend some more time gaining my trust in RPs and proving you have the ability to stay with it. Until then, you cannot join.

Well, erm, in response to the question you presented to me...

It's a shame FLCL was only six episodes long. I think we need something excessively strange to go along those lines. Not to say that I want to copy FLCL (we can do without the giant robots), but I loved the idea and wished there was more insane randomness to it.

Yeah, that's what I'm looking for. The randominity. Sorta like FMA is random.

You've seen Lain, right? I was thinking we could play off of that somehow as well. There has to be a lead (or perhaps a pair of lead) character who starts experiencing really strange things, and then a plethora of entirely random shit happens.

In my head, I have this idea of mixing Lain with FLCL, One Piece, and GTO. Don't ask me how it will work, because I don't have any idea. But those are the ones stuck in my head, and I think it would be great fun to try and make something out of it.

Any ideas for a scene or base plot?

I have not seen GTO or Lain, though I am planning on buy the box set soon for Lain. So I may or not find out what it is like. But yeah I had the thoughts of FLCL running through my mind as well when thinking about it. FLCL had just crazy off the wall humor and action that just seemed to be the apitomy of randomness. Think we can coax S here, he is certainity the most random, off the wall person around TFF I know.

Well I had not given much thought to exact details about plot and scenes. I mean it was just an idea to me, so nailing down where everything it going to take place was something I was going to make a group effort.

The most common scene is a School. But that would actually begin to near matters down though. Because is this going to be Futuristic, Current day Tokyo, or whatever city, Feudal Japan, or something else. Once a time period has been decided we should be able start to near things down. Though considering having things in a somewhat normal Tokyo, does not mean its normal, you can have so many odd things, like Mechas, Magic, Aliens, Spaceships, and the ever popular random cat. We do need a random animal that is the mascot almost. Almost every anime has some cat, or whatever just randomly showing up for no reason at all.

er...for FLCL maybe yu can continue where the last episode left off. Yu can continue Haruhara-Haruko's journey to whereever she wants to go, maybe Mamimi's goal to be a photographer, or Naota/Takun's head is still empty and things keep coming out like a giant talking zit bomb err...Possibly a cute dog like the dog from Excel Saga. Heh, just my opinion *scratches back of head* er...

While that's a good idea, we're not actually looking to spawn the RP off of an anime. It's more like a parody of the anime genre as a whole, and that's what we're brainstorming on for the moment.

I may have to consider that FLCL continuation another time though... *thinks*

We are not directly going off an anime. Its a parody of anime. This is to be an original piece of work that pokes fun at anime and acts how anime normally does. Thus, parody.

maybe exagerate and use too much anime emotions.Yu guys could RP and make fun of other animes, kinda like a MADtv of sorts.

Well I think the perfect setting would be a modern Tokyo but as you sadi with moderately wierd elements. Also we have to all be wearing school uniforms because that is typical of many anime shows. We also need some sort of hangout place where we can go after school. Than there also needs to be some guy that acts like a ladies man (which I wouldnt mind playing lol). Maybe we can have a rat as the mascot. Dont think Ive seen that used before.
