Why didnt they realese Final FAntasy IIIj on playstation with I,II,IV,V,VI

i have:
origins
anthology
FFVI
FFVII
FFVIII
FFIX
FFX
FFX-2
FFT

i have all the FFs i can get on PS, but not FFIII coz its not released.

I am a playstation person who loves final fantasy and i want to know why Final FAntasy IIIj was never realesed on Playstation?

Perhaps because it's a much older game. I and II were re-done to the PS. Actually I believe III was re-made into FF6 in english. Why not Japanese, I'm not sure, I'm sure there's a japanese version of Anthology as well.

So...really....they have. A couple were re-made into later version and given a different # to them. I believe 4 was a re-make too....but I'm not for sure.

Actually, Killer Cloud is referring to FF3j, not FF6j, which is what you're referring to. FF6j was released as FF3 on the SNES, when in reality, it was actually the sixth. Since they didn't release FF2j or FF3j on the NES, when it came time to release FF4 on the SNES, they decided to rename it to FF2, because otherwise, the US games would have gone straight from 1 to 4, which would have been weird. FF5 wasn't released either, so when FF6 was released, they called in FF3 here in the US. But it's actually FF6. Yes, that's confusing, but that's the way it is.

Anyway, I honestly couldn't say why they didn't rerelease FF3j on the Playstation. It's a good game, far better than FF2j, so yeah. Good news, though: they're supposed to be rereleasing FF3j on the Game Boy Advance (or SP, I forget), so keep your eyes out for that.

For the record, it was never released in America, either. It was a Japan-only release, though there are talks of it being in development for an American and International release soon. I think it was for the GBA... but I honestly can't remember what I'd read.

Loco's correct that it's never been released outside of Japan, aside from rom translations. But Square-Enix has said that they would remake it for the DS, which was originally planned (and done?) for the wonderswan color but never released. Supposedly they have changed a lot to it, but they haven't let a word out about it since it was first announced.

FFI-3 aren't exactly on my list of favorites, I just don't have much fun playing them, it's all too.... basic.

FFI just seems completely devoid of a clear goal (for the first 3 hours I've played it, at least) FFII seems completely devoid of telling you what you should be doing, and FFIII I just die because I don't try.

Ohhh...ok. Some people have tried to catch me up on that when I was new to FF....but they never really got me to understand it.....but actually THAT helps me a lot....so thanks.

Killer cloud.....don't double post and (along with Red Magician) make your posts longer....mmk?? Just a little advice.

But anyway....yeah. thanks for clearing that up for me. I just don't understand why they didn't use the tactic they're using now for releasing them.....10 in Japan is 10 everywhere else.....ya know? At least they got the order straightened out.

I'd just like to point out that the GBA and the SP are the same system... >_>;

The SP is just a different design, but they both play the same games.

Dont get all bushy. FFIII was never released outside of japan ever. the only way is to download the ROM. Origin's is a remake towards FFI and FFII but FFII was never released before it. So bassically origins was trying to bring FFII to our liking. Anthology was a remake of FFV and FFVI. But like origins (Though Anthology came first) It was trying to bring FFV into liking as it was never released before aswell. But you didn't mention having Chronicles. Chronicles is no remake what so ever. Just an FFIV and Chrono Trigger for the PS1. The same graphics and all with just some crappy Full Motion Video's. And both of those games were released for the SNES outside of japan. FFIII is also said to be remade for the nintendo DS. But rumors are that it's not gonna be the original FFIII. Heard there are gonna be some major changes...
