Post Final Fantasy IIIj For The Nintendo DS Has New Features

A Korean website (Ruliweb) has unofficially leaked some information regarding Final Fantasy III's upcoming port to the Nintendo DS. Supposedly there is a new "Defense Meter" that will be present in battles and play as large a role (if not larger) than a character's HP meter.

Characters attacking foes will result in depleting of the Defense Meter while the enemy is shown trying to block the strike. Once the Defense Meter reaches 0, HP can be taken. Reports have not been clear enough to indicate whether the Defense Meters are exclusive to foes or if the playable characters will have them as well.

There are still no release dates known for the DS port of Final Fantasy IIIj.

Heh, at least they're still working on it. I was a little concerned about that, seeing as how I hadn't heard any new information about it since it was announced.

A defense meter would make a bit of sense, it'll seem a bit less like the enemies are doing nothing and simply taking hits. Square Enix could do something with it, if they worked it right. All that I can currently think of would be to have things such as items and abillities specifically target one meter or the other, though.

Still, "unofficially leaked?" Would Ruliweb be privy to any information that most other places wouldn't be? The internet tends to be full of video game leakage, so why is it only coming from there? I tried checking the site out, but I can't read Korean.
