Remix's - HELP!
Alright, this is a pretty odd question, but its been bugging me for quite awhile so I thought I'd see if anyone here could help me out. I like to look through vgmix.com and ocremix.org every now and then just to see if any new remixes come out that I like. I'm mostly a rock and country kind of person, but I like listening to this music every now and then. Anyways, onto my problem. Way back in the day, I had this one remix that I think I got from vgmix.com, and it was titled "Ruins of Zanarkand." It was a remix of the Zanarkand them from FFX, I believe. It was one of my favorite remixes, but somehow I lost it when I got a new comp, reinstalled windows, deleted it, I don't know. I can't find it online at any of the remix sites anymore, so I was wondering if anyone here knows what I'm talking about and has the mix on their comp. It would be much appreciated.
EDIT: Well, I found out I'm not completely crazy, and the remix does exist. I was searching through Google and when I got to about the 30th results page someone had their Winamp playlist posted and it was on there. It was a remix by Sage Ansem. But since I'm on the topic, I guess I'll ask another question. What are your favorite remixes from a video game? I don't know if I could name all my favorites, but the ones I've liked the best recently have been "Legend of Snake" and "Ascension to Cosmo Canyon," both by Reu. These are two amazing remixes of the Metal Gear Solid themes, and FFVII, respectively. Last edited by cloud711; 06-18-2005 at 08:05 PM. |

Technically this goes to the Gaming Media forum, where I've had said thread in existence three times in the past three years, but whatever.
I like Terra in Black by Ailsean, Surfing on the Blocks (Tetris) by Ailsean (I can play this on guitar, too. ) well, basically anything by Ailsean, and quite a few piano arrangments (Cutman Sonota especially) by McVaffe.Yeah. |

My bad, I wasn't even aware that there was a gaming media forum
. Too many damn sub forums now if you ask me. Anyways, I found the remix I was looking for. I was looking downstairs by the computer I used to use before I got my own and I found a stack of about 70 CDs. After looking through them for awhile I found a couple that I made a couple years ago when I was transferring files to my new computer. Anyways, it was on there, and its definitely one of my favorites. I like Ailsean also, he has a good Seiken Densetsu 3 mix called Angels on the Shore, its pretty mellow, but its good. Also, anything by Jared Hudson, who's probably my favorite remixer. My favorites are Metal Gear May Cry, which is a mix of the MGS and Devil May Cry themes. Chu Chu's Flight from Xenogears, The Final Summoning from FFX, and Memories of Sorrow are some of his other great remixes. |

Yeah, I remember the Metal Gear May Cry mix, I liked it, though it's the only mix I've heard from Jared Hudson, methinks.
I'm also pretty partial to anything with guitars, I think one of my favorite mixes, period, is Cutmetal by Braincells (look it up on vgmix) It's a metal remix to Cutman's Theme. Virt also has a great remix of Zelda themes called Blood of Gannon, which is quite wonderful. And Ailsean's One Link to Rule Them All mix of the Zelda overworld theme is badass. |
