Dawezy sips tea with Black Mage - (lv 4)Dawezy sips tea with Black Mage - (lv 4)Dawezy sips tea with Black Mage - (lv 4)
Ehh, its a simple enough process of seeking out the monsters that drop the Summons.. but.. the drop rate, is quite high.. 1/64 if I recall. Anyway, I'll shed some light on what monsters drop what.

Imp -> Imp, Imp Cap, Dark Imp, Tricker.
Mage -> Mage/Flayer.
Cocatrice -> Roc, RocBaby, Eagle, Cocatris/Cockatrice.
Bomb -> Balloon/RemedyBomb, Bomb, Grenade, GreyBomb.

As for locations.

Imp -> Entire continent of Baron/Damcyan/Fabul. Entire Underworld.
Mage -> Cave Magnes.
Cocatrice -> Baron region, Fabul region, Mt.Hobs, Eblan Island.
Bomb -> Just about everywhere, basically. lol

Been a while since I went on the hunt myself, so anyone feel free to correct me here. All I can say to you is to just keep on trying, due to the dynamics of the games a 1/64 drop really is a bitch to accomplish. Heh. Gives a new meaning to "Rare" drop. ><

Brotherhood has levelled up - (lv 1)
The only 1/64 probability was for that Pink Tail thing in the Babil Giant. The summons aren't that hard to get.

No no, I think Dawezy is right. I tried for the longest time to get the summons as well, and simply got bored of it and gave up. I got Imp but I never did get Cocatrice, Mage, or Bomb.

Frankly I don't think it's worth it, and neither is trying to collect all the rare items in the game. I found 14 of the 21 rare items and then searched for 15 hours for the Lamia Rod and I never got it, so I moved onto playing a different game.

The rare items are TOO rare and not worth the trouble IMO.

But yeah that is how you get the summons, just keep fighting the monsters of the same type over and over and you MIGHT eventually get it. Let us know if you get actual results.

Hell, I never even knew you could get those other summons until I read it on Dawezy's site. That should give you an idea of just how rare they are. o.o

The only way to get Mage and Bomb is to cheat, in a sense.

If there's more than one opponent, kill one. Revive it. Kill it. Revive it. Use phoenix downs, and use all that you have. You should be rewarded with the Mage/Bomb summon spell after you slaughter an ungodly number of them in that single fight. Plus, you get wicked EXP for it anyway. ^_^

I had a thought about Cesar's post, and since I'm not the only one probably going WTF?!? about his post, let's clarify. ^^

ZRO4825: How the hell do you even target a dead enemy in FFIV? o.O
LocoColt04: Like so
LocoColt04: Char 1: Attack
LocoColt04: Char 2: Phoenix Down
ZRO4825: ahhhh
LocoColt04: you have to set that second command BEFORE the monster dies
LocoColt04: Should've clarified
ZRO4825: Probably a good idea ^^

Makes more sense now, ne? XD
