Poll Wars week one: character GROUP ONE

Okay, pretty straightforward with this one.

These are your five choices in group one, and all you've got to do is pick one. The polls will be private, so I ask that IF you feel you have to post, at the very least, give a reason as to why you chose the character you picked, or why it was a tough choice.

If this thread turns into an argument over who's better, I'll have to do something about it.



Now personally, I'm voting for Edgar. Why? Sabin might be my favorite character, but I don't really think he's the best. It's a tough choice in this one, with five big power hitters (yeah, Gau's a power hitter... sorta) on the field. As cool as Locke is, and as efficient as he and his weaponry may be, I think it's Edgar's tools that helped me make up my mind on this one.

Besides, he's the pimp king. It doesn't get any better than that.

I picked Locke, seeing as how he's my favorite character in the game. The first time through the game, Locke was my power guy (equipped with the Atma Weapon and Illumina, and with the Genji Glove and Offering). I found his Steal and Capture abilities to be extremely useful at times, and I managed to snag some decent stuff from enemies using that skill.

But most of all, the reason I like Locke is his personality. FF6 was my first RPG, and Locke was my introduction to the "chivalric, cool-under-fire thief" persona. The "i'm a TREASURE HUNTER!!!" thing was actually quite funny, and his side story (involving Rachel) was very moving. That's why I chose Locke.

Sabin, hands down.

Why? Dude, crew cut anyone? =P

Plus the Blitzes were just nice. I'm eating, so I'll add more later.

For me it was a real close draw between Cyan and Sabin. I chose Sabin though, because I like Monks, and has some great abilities.

I hardly used Cyan, Gau or Locke so I cannot vouche for their awesomeness. They just never appealed to me that much, so it becomes a battle between the brothers.

My choice is Edgar. He was strong, likable, and his Tools were useful throughout the entire game. As opposed to Sabin's Blitz Attacks, which got useless fairly early in the game if you ask me.

I believe that Sabin has it all over the rest of the competition.

Alot of those claws he equip tend to give out some stat bonuses, plus some status ailments to boot. But one of the better reasons for my choice would be, his strength and speed by default, tends to outshine everyone else as far as ive observed. Could be wrong, but Sabin does more damage then most of characters at earlier levels with his equip. Then again, all our games are different so eh. lol
