Dream Existence (GDC)

[Rain McCloud]

Scene begins on Isarus, Extou's moon and inside William Bach's massive Laboratory during the formation of his "Dream Existence."

Dear Henry,
I, Dr. William Bach of Isarus, am at the point of supreme discovery! At this very moment, my project (my dream existence) is in the process of being developed. Finally, my dream of ruling all worlds is becoming a reality. This is it, what do you think? Join me in an eternal reign and become quite powerful, or fall to your knees, begging my mercy... the choice is yours.

Suddenly a doctor named Jago Falto approaches Bach from behind, "Dr. Bach, there seems to be a problem..." Bach replies, "A problem? That's impossible, my design is perfect." He turns his chair in the direction of the unbreakable glass lab. Jago is looking in that direction as he speaks, "Sir, I know that it is perfect, but our fellow scientists are turning into..." "Amazing... I have created a new race of humans. Fantastic. I want more of them for my perfect world..."

He turns and continues to write his letter. Jago stares at him for a moment, frustration and angry intent showing on his face, "You're insane!" he shouts and turns towards a valve that would end the production, "Your lunacy ends here." "NO!" Bach shouts, rising from his chair and stopping Jago in his tracks. "Look in awe upon these creatures... they are magnificent. You cannot end my dream now." "You're dream!? Those creatures were once our fellow scientists... are you mad!? And what is this about 'your dream'? Your dream was to turn us into monsters? I can not allow you to continue this."

Jago tries to pull away, but is pulled inside the lab near the mixture. "I must ask you one thing..." Bach says angrily, eyes red as fire, arms pushing Jago ever closer to the mixture, "How are you going to stop it... IF YOU BECOME ONE OF THEM!?" Bach tosses the weaker Jago into the mixture, and walks back to his chair to continue the letter. Unfazed by the loss of his friend and quietly says to himself, "Many sacrifices must be made, to achieve something this big. Farewell, Dr. Jago Falto."

Scene is in Extou, Rain and Sarah's home 7:40 in the morning:

Rain is describing a dream to his sister. "Imagine being outside, walking along an old wooden bridge in the middle of a moonless night. A desolate and crumbling old city behind you and an abandoned warehouse before you. This was the scene which surrounded me in this awkward dream. As I continued across, you and a person in black armor appeared on the other end. He had his arm around you as though you were lovers and you were smiling, waving for me to come towards you guys. Then the dream just ends."

Sarah and Rain are eating breakfast in the dining room of the old house, Sarah watching her brother tell her about his dream, "Interesting dream, Rain. I wonder what it means." She says, "I really thought my knight would be in 'shining' armor... " "Heh... funny Sis. But seriously, this dream freaked me out. It was too real, ya know." "Yeah, I know it Rain. I've had dreams like that before. Anyways, we need to hurry or we're going to be late again."

Rain looks at the watch around his wrist, "You know what... you're right. Go get ready and I'll meet you at the front door." Rain says gathering the plates and placing them in a dishwasher that starts as he closes the door. Minutes later, he opens it again and the plates are clean. He places them in a nearby shelf and then goes to grab his school work and Sarah's backpack. Then patiently waits at the door.

Minutes later, "Ready?" Sarah asks, "Yep, let's get going." It wasn't really that long of a walk to the school, as it was just next door to their home, but it would have been an easier road to travel on if they had vehicles. But oh well. They got there just as classes were starting. "See ya at lunch, Bro." Sarah waves, walking towards her classroom, "See ya."

He walks into his own, taking the time to glance around the room and see if Kelly was there. Kelly had been his best friend for many years... I guess you could say he was 'into' her big-time. He sat down next to her and the instructor began calling role and giving the class announcements. "Hey Kelly, how's it going?" "Hey Rain, going great. Did you do your homework this time?" "Oh yeah... finished it just last night." "Ha... you're such a procrastinator Rain." Kelly said, brushing her long black hair behind her ear with her left hand.

She looked gorgeous today, wearing a light blue shirt that looked really well on her, and blue jeans. The class had started and the teacher kind of signaled to them that the time to talk was over.

During the class, Kelly couldn't help but to stare at Rain. She hoped he wouldn't noticed, but then saw, as she's seen many times before, how beautiful his eyes were as he looked up at her... "sh*t!" She says to herself, looking down at her paper, turning bright red. "Are you okay Kelly?" Rain asks, seemingly concerned. "I'm fine; I was just thinking of something and unfortunately seemed to be looking in your direction... sorry if it bothered you." lame excuse... she says to herself. "Ah don't worry about it Kelly." The bell rings. They would be separating for the other classes. "See you at lunch Kel." Rain says walking out.

"Yeah, see you." Lotus cheeps on her shoulder a bit. "Yeah, I know Lotus. Maybe I'll ask him at lunch." She says, a little disappointed, "I sure hope he likes me that way." Lotus cheeps again. "Thanks Lotus." She says to the little black creature on her shoulder, finally smiling. "Let's go to class." She gathers her things and walks to class. On the way Marv and Rachel were talking to each other and then joined Kelly as they were all in the same class.

(OCC: Well here's Marv's intro.)
Marv had awoken from the past night's slumber with the sound of an alarm going off. The beep's pounded at his head harshly until he grunted and hit the off switch. I'll do it today. I'll ask Rachel. How hard can it be right? Hahaha you've been saying that for how many years now, thats right three years. Well your a big help. Stupid conscience. He thought looking at the ceiling. The arguement awoke his eagerness to go to school. He sprang out of bed and got dressed.

After countless minutes he finished. He stood in the mirrior, the reflection of his slendor body dressed in the contrasting colours of mauve,tan and sky blue. "Damn. I'm cute." He said parting his jet black hair in the middle. Once finished Marv sprinted to the door grabbing his napsack on the way out of the door to his home.

He arrived at school during first class. I'm glad I only don't have the first class of the day. Don't think I could get up any earlier. He thought walking into the hall and there she was Rachel. He sighed as he felt his face starting to blush. He was never like this when he was younger. He could still talk to her but he felt akward while he did it. Is this what love is? His thoughts were interupted by the sound of his name. "Marv!" Rachel yelled from down the hall. Marv smiled and parted his hair once more and walked towards her, nodding at the faces he recongized. He met up with her when the bell rang.

Kelly walked out of class with Rain which was no surprise. She walked towrds them and greeted them smiling. Marv shook his head and the walked off to their next class.

Kelly followed Marv and Rachel into the class, lotus still seated upon her shoulder. During the class, all she could think about was Rain. She wondered if he already had a girlfriend... she hadn't seen one with him, but wasn't for sure, even as best friends. She was hoping he would ask her out sometime. She may try at lunch time. There's a concert that's going on tonight featuring a band called Kittie. She was hoping to ask him to that.

Kelly wasn't even paying attention to what her instructor was saying. She even started writing what she wanted to say to him. Before she knew it, the bell rang and it was lunch time. Time flys with love in the air. The all met together in line. Sarah was running a bit late. Kelly and Marv sat down on Rain's right and left sides. Marv wanted to dual him again, but Rain said he had other plans. This worried Kelly, but he mention he had to meet with his uncle, the ruler of Maelchom, for dinner at his home. Rachel piped in, "You could always challenge me, Marv. You know I'm just as good as Rain is with the sword."

[Atma-Noah]

"But I wouldn't want to mess up that pretty face of yours. Now would I?" Idiot! Way to go! Why don't you offend her some more you retard! Hey you know me I can't every fight a woman. It goes against everything that makes me well me. Realizing he was now slouching in his chair he straightened up. Hey I said she had a pretty face maybe she'll take it as a compliment. Marv debated with himself while he tried to think of something else to say.

"I wonder why he wants you to go see him Rain? Maybe he's going to put you in his will or something. You'll be rich! Once he dies of course. Your some lucky to have such a rich family member."

Unable to stay in his seat any longer. Marv shimmied off his chair and stretched out his body. Flicking the collar of his shirt up.

"I say we ditch classes for the rest of the day! I'm sure Jetwolf would let us hide out at the smithing shop for the day or we could find something to do on Extou. Whadda ya say?" Marv posed the question at the group while he flicked his nose with his thunb. Laughing afterwards at the action.

[Rain McCloud]

"Heh... nice try Marv, but I can't do that. Neither can Sarah. You say we're lucky to have such a rich family member eh? Well, it's not that great. You have to pay attention to what you do..."

Suddenly Sarah arrives at the table, "Hey Rain, save a spot in line for me next time. It takes FOREVER to get here and get my food."

"Sure thing Sis." Rain said turning to Sarah. Pulls the chair that Marv had been sitting in out for her, and she takes her seat.

"Leaving already Marv?" Sarah asks "And I just got here too..." She frowns at him.

"Heh... as I was saying, everyone watches you. They expect you to act royally... like I'm some religious fanatic that we read about in the textbooks. I hate it. Besides, we're not all that rich ya know. I only work in a department store across the street. Still have to pay rent and for food and schooling."

[Atma-Noah]

"Sorry there Sarah but I've just got to get outta here. It's ok Rain I'll just go by myself I'll meet you guys at Jetwolfs after school." Marv said turning and heading out of the cafeteria.

He caustiously walked down the halls watching for teachers. Following the twisted halls of the school, then there it was the main doors. It wasn't as if he'd never cut class before but the thrill he got doing it always made him cautious.

After leaving the school grounds he walked the busy streets of town. People rushing around at lunch hour. He turned into Jetwolfs shop and said hi. Jetwolf laughed at Marv and his antics. " Y'know if you ditch school to much they won't let you graduate." Jetwolf chuckled. "Well I think most of the gang is going to come here after school so I thought I'd tell you in advance other then that I'm going to see whats going on at the park. See ya Jetwolf." Marv said exiting the smithing shop.

Footsteps other then his own made him wonder if someone was following him. Well i guess I'm going to get side tracked. I'll go to the park after this. He thought turning into an ally. Sure enough the footsteps followed. Marv quickly looked at the surroundings, there wasn't much a broom and some trash cans. Well I guess all I got is the broom. Damn! Why can't people leave out useful stuff. He thought kicking the broom up to his hand and pointed it towards his stalker.

[Rain McCloud]

Following close behind Marv, as he went on his own little agenda for the day, a beautiful figure with long blonde hair, stood out among the darkness of the alley. She wanted to suprise him, as he didn't really ask her to go. She figured he was thinking that everyone stayed back at the school.

Then, she noticed he was looking for something. He seemed to notice a broom nearby and she could tell he was going for it. She carefully drew her sword, making sure that he could hear the blade gently sliding out of it's sheath and continued her approach. She's been waiting a long time for this.

(meanwhile, back at the school, the final class was let out early. Rain, Sarah and Kelly are all ready to leave... just waiting on a group of young girls that Rain was asked to protect a little earlier.)

"I can't believe the jerks could stoop this low Rain..." Sarah says to her brother, his arms crossed and eyes staring off into the distance, "What's gotten into them?"

"Not sure. I know I beat them pretty bad a couple of months ago... I'd figured they changed. Saw Joe the other day." Rain replies, snapping back to reality and walking past Sarah, "He said... that the gang had gotten back together... he doesn't like following them, but... they're his only friends. He still doesn't care too much to hang with us... considering we are 'royalty'. I hate title, but oh well. He seemed well. We'll probably see him soon enough." Looks behind him towards an approaching group of girls.

"Hey Rain! How's it going?" one of the girls asks.

"Heh... Great. Shall we get going?" The girls all seem to nod and the group heads out. Rain in front, Sarah and Kelly at his sides, the group of girls following.

Kelly seemed preoccupied with something. It was pretty easy to notice as it was showing brightly on her face.

"Whats wrong Kelly? You seem troubled." Rain asks, continueing the lead.

Kelly seemed to turn away briefly and then, she shared what was on her mind currently,

"Rain... why have you never asked me out?"

That was a question even Rain had constantly asked himself in the past. He stopped for a moment to let a few of the girls go home... there went most of the group. He then replied to Kelly.

"... I just... I just figured you were already with someone." Rain says as Sarah gets a mischevious look in her eyes.

"... That's not it... my brother is just too shy to ask you out. Hee hee!" Sarah proclaims, giggling the while.

"Whatever" Rain replies, still looking at Kelly.

"Well, if that's the case..." Kelly says, now red and being a bit shy, rubbing the toe of her shoe in the dirt, "Why don't we go out tonight? There's a concert at the Collossus."

"Damn... I wish I could Kelly, but... hey, why don't you come to our house? It may not be much of a first date, but my family will be down for dinner. How about it?"

"Alright! Sounds great!" Kelly replies.

"It's a date then... after we get these other girls home." Rain replies, and they continue on. Rain and Kelly talking about how long they've been attracted to eachother. Sarah piping in with details that Rain is skipping. The day had gotten a bit brighter for everyone.

[Atma-Noah]

Marv turned just in time to see the blade coming down upon him. He quickly snapped his wrist causing the broom to turn horizontally. In one fluid motion he brought up his other hand against the broom and forced the broom vertically. The assailant's blade right beside the broom. He smiled stepping to the left and pushing the stalker away. Her blond hair glistened in the sun light.

"Rachel! What are you doing! Attacking me from behind like that! Egad!" Marv jumped in surprise.

"Well Marv you didn't invite me to go with you! Hmph!" Rachel said sheathing her sword and crossing her arms in anger.

Perplexed Marv just stood there. Stay cool Marv. Look nows your chance to make your move. Go get her tiger! His conscience told him.

"Sorry Rachel next time I'll ask, just don't try to jump me again I might have to actually fight you." He said fixing his hair.

Rachel perked up. "I look forward to it. Well lets go do something now Marv. How about we go to the park?"

"Sounds all right to me. That where I had planned on going in the first place." Marv said beginning to walk out of the alley. Rachel quickly caught up a placed her arm inside his.
"What are you doing?" Marv asked pulling away.

"What you mean what am I doing? Your being a gentlemen holding my arm. Rain does it but I guess he's the only gentlemen anyway." Rachel replied.

WHAT!! Rain is a gentlemen! Argh! Who does she think she is saying something like that. It's as if she's trying to get me pissed. Maybe she's just trying to get you to be a gentlemen too. With a sigh Marv took up her arm and began to walk. Wearing a suttle smile upon his face.

Rachel
Hehe... looks like I got him with the whole "Rain is a gentleman thing." She giggles to herself. She knew that by saying Rain was a gentleman it would make Marv a bit edged... at the same time he would do it just to impress her. It was exactly what she wanted. Though he may not realize it, she has had feelings for him for quite some time.

It was back when they were young kids, 11 or 12. She almost fell after being tripped by the school bully, and Marv caught her midfall. Later on, Marv challenged the bully, who was 19 at the time and beat him. From then on she thought of him as her knight in shining armor, but wasn't sure on how to talk to him. It's been many years since then, and some feelings never fade. Thus did they continue, hidden agendas pouring from the subtle smirks on their faces.

Rain McCloud

Rain and the group had been walking to the next drop point when the 3 jerks appeared. Marcus, Sam, and Joe. Joe seemed a bit cautious as they approached. Marcus led the way, puffed out and prideful of himself. Rain saw the threat coming and knew that this would end up being another meaningless fight. They stood no chance, but what was that to them?

"Well lookey here... if it isn't our 'hero' Rain McCloud. Looks like he has hotter babes with him this time eh fellas?" Marcus said with a smirk, looking back at his buddies. Sam knodding in approval, Joseph apparently unsure how to respond.

"Hmph... you guys again? Don't you remember how bad I beat you before? Why do you guys keep doing this crap?" Rain replied, motioning for the girls to hide around the corner.

"HA! You beat us!? What nonsense is that Rain?" Marcus says, trying to make himself look better for the girls looking on.

"He did beat us pretty bad last time Marcus." Joe finally piped in. In doing so, a red faced Marcus turned angrily towards him. Didn't do anything but pout.

"Whatever... " Marcus says turning back to Rain.

"So how do you guys want to do it? 3 on 1, or 1 on 1?" Rain asked, anxious to get it over with.

"... Count me out Rain. I'm not up for humiliating myself against you." Joe says walking away.

"I guess you're the only smart one Joe." Rain replies, waving him off.

Damn it.... "... Well, we'll beat you even if Joe is too chicken to fight. Let's get him Sam!" they both charge.

Rain simply deflects each of their swings... totally showing off for the ladies. After a little while the onslaught from Marcus and Sam cease when Sam runs off, admitting defeat, trying to catch up to Joe in the distance.

"Sam! Where you going!? (huff, wheez)" Marcus says.

"Well, what do you say Marcus... Fight or Flight?" Rain says with a cocky look on his face. His diamond blade gleaming, as if it hadn't even been in the fight.

"DAMN YOU!!" Marcus charges, swinging the blade vertically down as Rain brings his sword up, splitting Marcus's blad at the hilt.

"Get lost Marcus." Rain says firmly as Marcus looks on with a shocked expression at his now broken blade. Marcus then looks at Rain and runs off.

"This ain't over Rain! Someday I will beat you!" Marcus shouts in the distance.

"... pitiful." Rain replies as the girls come back around him. "Alright, let's move on."

With that, they head out. As they go, Kelly notices a cut on Rain's left arm, slightly bleeding.

"Oh my gosh! Rain, you're hurt!" She says pointing at his arm.

"... meh... it's just a scratch... it'll heal up in no time." He says confidently.

"Are you sure?" Kelly replies, a look of concern showing on her face.

"Heh... Rain is always sure of himself." Sarah pipes in, giggling. Both of the girls start giggling.

"What are you to talking about back there?" Rain takes a quick glance back, the girls still giggling.

"We're talking about you Rain." Sarah giggles.

"Oi..." Rain says, dropping off the last few at their apartments and finally starting the trek back home.
