| Final Fantasy I+II The first two titles that started it all have been made and remade for several systems from the NES to the PSP. Talk about any iteration of these two titles here. |

Blood Sword in FF I?
What the hell are these cheat code sites talking about when they say that there is a Blood Sword in FF I from Dawn of Souls (GBA)? They say that you can get the sword from Pavel about halfway through the game. I think that they have this confused with FF II when you talk to Paul after freeing Fynn from the empire's control. If anyone knows where Pavel's house is in FF I, I would be interested in knowing so that I can get the sword for my team and try the strategy on Chaos.
After defeating FF II, I will admit that the blood sword rocks against the emperor (three rounds of combat), but i think that the websites are spewing crap...but if I'm wrong, please point me in the right direction to obtaining the sword in FF I. The following sites show this cheat: http://www.cheatcc.com/gba/ff1a2.html http://www.cheatplanet.com/gbcheats/...sy_1_and_2.htm http://www.gamewinners.com/game_boy_...ntasy1And2.htm I'm sure there are others, but I was wondering if anyone else knows/has had success with finding the Blood Sword in FF I. |

I haven't played the GBA verison of FF1, but having extensively exhausted both the NES and PS1/2 verison of FF1 I can be reasonably sure that the Blood Sword does not exist in FF1. I have the guides to both verisons and neither mention any Blood sword. I think you're right--this is some error on the website(s) part.

I'm positive there wasn't a blood sword in FF1.
But, then again, this is the GBA version, and they added a lot of stuff to it. So don't look over it just yet. |

Cheating Answers All
True to my devious ways to getting answers, I purchased both the GBA Gameshark and Action Replay and used the Have All Items/Weapons code on each system and found the answer to my question. For the record, there is no Blood Sword programmed into FF I. Using the same codes on FF II revealed that there is a weapon programmed in the game but not available by finding or from enemy encounters. The item is called the Killer Bow and its description at the bottom of the item screen reads, "If you're reading this, you've either found a bug or are a 1337 haXXor." Equipping the item and fighting with it in battle reveals...well, actually, the character who uses it doesn't even have the bow animation. Maria just stepped forward and killed the enemy. I'm not sure exactly if it has any special attacks, but I was able to definitively say that there were, in fact, no Blood Swords in FF I.

Okay, after you beat the vamp, get the star ruby from the chest, and take it to the Giant's cave.
He'll be all like, YAY, and you'll be all like, let me through, and he'll say: KAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Actually, it is significant.
The blood sword, in my opinion, is one of the best swords in any FF game. Deals lots of damage + restores HP to the user. Winning combination. |

The Blood Sword can be obtained right before heading into the cyclone. Head
into Paul's house in Fynn BEFORE going to the Cyclone. Ask Paul about the Cyclone and he will tell you about a secret passage in his bedroom, the Blood Sword is there. This is how you get it in Dawn of Souls... I believe it is the same for the IIj version on an emulator. hope this helps |

Actually, i've perused many places about this subject, looking for all items in DoS, and there is no blood sword in FF1. There is one unattainable item, the Angel's Ring which I'm not sure what it does in the first place, but there is definately no Blood Sword. and just level up to 99, Chaos becomes easy.
