how would you rate Final Fantasy X-2

i just wanted to know cause i'm planning on buying a game soon and i was thinking about getting final fantasy X-2. if anyone who has it could just tell me if it's better than final fantasy X.
Also how is the storyline, the battle system, the characters, etc.

Okey, I wouldnt really "rate" FFX-2 for you because everyone has a pretty big bias about it here at FF forums. But, I'd say its a pretty good game. More graphics, once again they have voiceovers, and the battle system is pretty fast. They dont take turns like they do in FFX, so you gotta be pretty fast.

As for the storyline, Buddy gives you a map, and you choose where you have to go. There are chapters and I believe 2 different endings. The main characters are Yuna, Rikku, and Paine. Yuna got a little tough hearted at somepoint, Rikku is still the same, and Paine is this mysterious warrior that joined the Gullwings. Its about something in her past.

Anyways, If you get the game, I hope you enjoy it ^_^ cause I would prolly rate it an 8.

It's a decent game. I payed through it about 4 times. Just so you know, if you get the guide, it's a liar when it comes to boss fights. THE FINAL BOSS IS UNGOLY EASY!!!!! Be level 50 to beat it.

I wouldn't get the game. I have never played it but I don't like the idea of playing a game that ruined the trademark of having each story unrelated to the last. Let's not forget to mention how this game ruins the idea of a decent battle by allowing you to change classes during battle. Why would you want to change classes? What fun is there in that? And it all seems to have this Charley's Angels atmosphere that isn't really cool at all in a Final Fantasy game. They have a fricken dress sphere too...

Good point what with the changing classes and all.... considering giving you respect points. . . done. +5!!

Anyhow, I kinda like the Charlie's angels atmosphere, it kinda brightens the mood up a bit. Normal FF games are sad, and depressing, while this is more fun.

Plus: Rikku in a tiny skirt, and thong showing. Nuff said.

You forget though, all the other FF's had their good moments too. Even with the sad and depressing moments, at least you get your revenge on the final boss. Know what I mean? This dude kills your friend/girl in the adventure and you get to kill the said dude to avenge the friend/girl who was killed. Vengeance was served. I'm just talking about a small portion here. All the other FF's have many good qualities that surpass FFX-2 in so many ways.

Yar, I thought FFX-2 was very fun, addictive, and even though there weren;t too many new places, I felt the game brought togather a bunch of different experiences never felt in any other FF game. For it's unique-ness, and fun factor I'd rate the game an 8.75/10. I'd rate it higher, but I'm not with the whole giving FF's sequals. But despite that I've accepted that FFX-2 isn't really all that bad. ^_^ I mean who doesn't want an RPG/fasion sim/adventure game/platformer mix?

I found Final fantasy X-2 an overall fun game to play. I admit it is not as good as other Final Fantasy games. The story isn't that good, but I believe it is just a game built around fun. I thouroughly enjoyed playing it. I would rate it perhaps a... 7-8/10. I actually don't count X-2 as a Final Fantasy, more, just a fun, action-packed game made for a good laugh. Well that's how I percieve it anyway.

It was just made to buy more time for 12. They really didn't have to do all that much to make the game, so instead they could work more on 12.

Most of the people who strongly dislike the game are the ones who refuse to play it. I had misgivings about the direct sequel at first, but when FF XI screwed up everything I said screw it and bought the game. The battle system is much better done than it has been in a while. Call me sentimental, but once I really got into the story I started to love it. I never really changed class mid-battle, so that wasn't a problem for me. The story isn't as linear, but if you love sidequests this is your perfect game. I'd say 8-9/10. It's definitely worth buying.

Get both of em... play ffx first u will understand ffx2 alot better and there both an experince!!

I wouldn’t say so tbh there not much alike in the story. Jesus Christ what were they thinking when they made blitzball on 10-2, that was a big let down I only seemed to play it a few times before thinking… WhatTheHell?

I would say it was ok, a bit rushed not much to the main game and a bit on the easy said. But over all it was a fun game to play, but I just couldn’t keep playing after I’ve done it all. So I’d give it 3 out of 5.

FFX-2 is just like Powerpuff Girls meets Charlie's Angels, if you like that..., then go ahead and buy it, but X-2 is NOT by faaaaaar better then FFX
and it's a waste of money, but, thet's only my opinion

And i would give it a D-, just for the Final Fantasy name.

I gotta go with Inferno on this one, to a certain extent. FFX-2 is a fun game. Lots of stuff to do. The battle system is hilariously fun. Now that having been said, IT WAS A SEQUEL TO FFX!!! IT ENDED PERFECTLY!!! HOW COULD YOU MAKE A SEQUEL TO SUCH A GREAT GAME!! AND TO THE THEME OF CHARLIE'S ANGELS??!!! that's....just....siiiiiick.....
