shuyian and tidus

Does anyone think that shuyian and tidus are related somehow. They might be brothers. I think that they said that both Tidus and Shuyian and Tidus were from 1000 years in the past. They both also lived in Zanarkan. They have to be connected somehow.

I personally just think that Tidus is just a freak occurance in the Fayth's dream that looks like Shuuin. It's impossible for Tidus and Shuuin to be related. Tidus is just a dream and has no blood ties to anyone in a real way, he's just a dream. Shuuin is a real person, who really existed, there fore the two cannot be related.

*shrug* I'm assuming this is a thread chock full of spoilers, so... eh.

Tidus "existed" in the videogame sense of reality -- he actually lived in Zanarkand, remember? The whole Fayth scene in FFX explained that, so there isn't much doubt about his existence. However, who's to say that the Fayth's recreation of him was accurate? Tidus could have been a black man for all we know. The Fayth merely recreated their likeness of him, tossing his soul into the body in the process. Perhaps the body of Shuuin is the one they remembered most vividly?

I don't think there's much of a real connection between the two, other than the crazy coincidence that the two couples look astonishingly similar. Beside that, I think it's really just Square messing with our heads. They're good for that.

Assuming Loco calculations are true, Tidus could be the Fayth recreation of Shuyin, and because Yuna was so like Lenne in many ways, he fell in love with her, and is it my impression or does Shuyin and Lenne seem older? I have now made a theory thanks to this topic.

Shuyin is older Tidus. Lenne is incrediably simular to Yuna. keep this in mind.
Zanarkand was destoryed 1000 years ago by the Machina war. Zanarkand was then recreated by the fayth, as they remeber it. Tidus is the younger version of Shuyin. I believe Shuyin a last name or something. Sin attacks Zanarkand, to alter Zanarkands history, to prevent the Machina war. 1000 years ago, Shuyin attempts to activate Vegnagun. Seeing as Shuyin died before that happened, it never happened. I believe Shuyin is part of the Machina wars cause although not proven. He was consealed in the cell, and thus they needed him for answers. Making him an important cause to the Machina war. Now Shuyin has a bond to this world as does Lenne. When Tidus(The younger Shuyin) was taken out of the dreamworld the Machina war was prevented in the dream Zanarkand. Meanwhile in the farplane, Shuyin is continplating the release of Vegnagun. During this time he manipulates some of the people and he uses Baralai as his last pawn. Before Yuna's journey he gets the machina working through Baralai. But then Tidus(Younger version of Shuyin) come to Spira making Shuyin unable to come to Spira because there is only room for one of each soul. Tidus then is sent to the Farplane, therefore allowing Shuyin to move freely once again He attempts to destroy the world. Yuna then uses Lenne, Shuyin's lover to talk to him. Shuyin and Lenne both fade together, making Tidus able to leave the Farplane, and roam freely. He then meets up with Yuna, in Spira again. But how you might ask Tidus is a dream of the Fayth. Without Fayth he is nothing. Tidus had an attraction to this world, as he did not want to leave. Like when Jyscal did. I believe that this was not enough, you know when Shinra said he was not going to be on the Gullwings anymore? I believe he was a unsent fayth who was sleeping. He spoke not a word of Al-Bhed through the whole game and he had known all about history and was unable to tell about it due to the problem that he did not want to world to know too much. When the fayth awake, Shinra became a Fayth who had summoned the dream of vegnagun. I know this does in some ways contradict the perfect ending of X-2, but bare with me here folks. How the hell would Tidus all of the sudden know why he is there? HE DOESN'T!!!! He was comforting Yuna anyway he could and at the same time keeping her around. I know it takes the magic away from the ending, but ohh well.

wow that was very educational and i agree all the way i love this theory and will use it myself if of course you dont mind witch i dont think you will it makes sense and that whole shinra thing is a mind blower wow man i love you ( you are the kind of guy that makes life easier

no i dont think there related becuse if you played the game and at the end of chater 5 the call says that hes a shadow and tides in not. and shian is the bad side of tides

So, basicly, Shuyin was the real guy, and Tidus is like a... reincarnation? Yuna could be Lenne's reincarnation... Then, like Rinoa Heartilly says, Shuyin contemplates his plan to revive Vegnagun in the farpla- Wait, he was in the Farplane?... There is a gaurd at the Farplane entrance in X-2, saying the Farplane is unstable... This could be 'cuz maybe Shuyin made the Farplane unstable. A part of his evil plan? WAIT! Shuyin didn't come out of the Farplane until about two years after Tidus went there, right? So, their souls might have something to do with it. As Rinoa Heartilly said, there can't be two of the same souls outside of the Farplane. So, the two same souls could have done something inside the Farplane......

Did I make any sense?

Can you offer me any proof of this? Because there's no truly legitimate connection between the two of them that I've found. Really, if you have concrete evidence, I'd like to see it.
