FFV Help please!

Hi I am new here and I need some help. I think I made a big oops but I don't know enough about these games to know for sure. Maybe it's a glitch. I dunno.

So, I am in the 2nd world and things are going fine. However, I accidently landed on Zeze's fleet and was pulled into this battle before I knew what happened. Realizing I was supposed to do somehting else before I went there, I let the boss kill me and started back where I was and went and did what I was supposed to do at the castle. Now I am supposed to go to Zeze's fleet and it's not there. Any ideas?

Welp, after Surgate's Castle (I'm assuming this is what you meant), here's what you should do in regards to Zeza's Fleet and where you can find it.

Zeza's fleet is to the east of X-Death's Castle; go land your dragon on the largest ship. Once you speak with Zeza, he tells you to go rest below decks before the attack on the barrier tower. The next morning, you're startled awake by X-Death's minions attacking the ship. Go up to the deck where you'll find monsters running around, attacking Zeza's men. Zeza attacks one of the monsters, leaving you to take care of the rest. You don't have to kill them, since your main target is Gilgamesh, waiting at the front of the boat. Before going into battle with Gilgamesh, make sure that someone has the !Steal command, since you can steal the Genji Glove from him. Halfway through the battle, Gilgamesh's will bring in Enkidoh, who will heal Gilgamesh. If you have the !Cntrl ability though, you can use it on Enkidoh and use him to heal you instead. Otherwise, just take out Enkidoh quickly before finishing Gilgamesh. When you defeat Gilgamesh, it'll be time to carry out the attack on the barrier tower, and Zeza takes you below decks to where he has a submarine waiting for you, which will take you into the tower.

(By the way, there's a helpline for this stuff... please get help there in the future.)

Thanks for replying to my question. I was beginning to think noone looks at this stuff.

Anyhow.....my problem is that Zeza's fleet is not there. It's gone. No ship, no nothing in the waters east of X-Death's castle. If you read my post again, I went to the fleet accidently before I went to Surgate castle. Realizing I was not supposed to be there yet, I let myself be killed cuz there was no other way out and I could not fight the dude and win. So, I get killed and go right back to my last save point and the fleet is GONE! I am thinking that my mistake of going there before I went to Surgate Castle (and letting myself get killed) caused this to happen somehow. It is simply not there. So, at this point I am stuck cuz I will not be able to get into the tower and move on.

Thanks for the tip on the helpline thingy. I was not aware that ALL questions should be posted there instead of starting a thread.

Eh, just questions referring to help. No big deal, really.

I think it's really weird that everything just... disappeared. This is way over my head; I'm totally confused here. Perhaps I can get someone else who knows a bit more about the game to help us out here, because not being able to progress through the game definitely poses quite a problem, huh?

Shadow's Suggestions
1. gamefaqs.com and get a FFV strat guide.
2. start the game over
3. follow said guide when stuck.

I'll throw up the Surgate Castle deal, make sure you have done all of the parts within. Because the ONLY REASON that Zeza's ships wouldnt be showing up is due to the fact that you have not met the requirements (done certain conversations) for it.

- Surgate Castle -

When you try to open the gates, you're stopped by some guards who demand that you identify yourselves. Before anything else is said, however, another soldier shows up, tells the two gate guards that that's Galuf, King of Val, then escorts you inside. He informs you about Zeza's fleet having left to attack X-Death's castle, then says you can take anything you need from the castle.

After regaining control, you're given free run of the castle! There's not a whole lot here, but loot the place anyhow. Start by taking the staircase on the right side of the room, which leads to the shopping area. The armor, magic, and item shops don't carry anything new, but Knights, Samurai, Berserkers, and Lancers might appreciate the new weapons you can buy here! When you're done here, go back upstairs, and head down the staircase on the lower left, which leads to Zeza's bedroom. Here, examine the red book laying on the desk to learn the Song of Speed, then go back upstairs and take the staircase just above you. This leads outside, then to a library. Some of the scholars here are examining a really old book of which half is missing. Hmm. Wasn't there a similar book at the Ancient Library back home...? Well, there's nothing you can do with this book, so go upstairs to the other part of the library. The old lady here grumbles about people not returning books to the shelves...do her a favor and clean the place up. Simply examine the three books on the table, and return them to the correct shelves. "Weird Ronka" goes on the "W-X" shelf, "Register of Monsters" goes on the "R-S" shelf, and the "Forbidden Book" goes on the "D-F" shelf. Note that you can only carry one book at a time, so just pick up another once you've returned one to the shelves.

When you're finished putting the books away, talk to the old lady again. She thanks you for saving her some work, says she's going to her room, then walks up and opens a secret door on the north wall and leaves. Follow her, and you'll end up in another room of the library. There's a book on the table here that says something about giving a lance to a mage, but I'm not entirely sure what it means. Go downstairs and grab the only chest here to get 5000GP, then take the south door to go to the outer courtyard. Head left under the bridge, and enter the building, which is another small storeroom. The chest here contains the odd Float spell. Get it, then leave the castle. You've found everything.

Now, to actually continue, fly a little east of X-Death's castle until you see a bunch of ships in the water. This is Zeza's fleet. You can land on the largest ship, so do so. Though it'd be a good idea to save first.

Thats probably all i can offer, if its a glitch in the game.. well your fucked, to be blunt.. if you cant progress after trying every possible way to get it working, then you'll have to start over

Hey thanks for the input everyone. I am really new to this FF stuff.

Loco....thanks for tryin anyhow. And, as I am sure I will be stuck again at some point, I will post in the helpline thingy.

Shadow....ummm....thanks I think. But,
1. I have FFV Strat Guide and no help for this problem
2. Was trying to avoid starting over. Thought someone else might have encountered this problem.
3. See #1 above.

Dawezy...thanks for the tip. I will try that and keep my fingers crossed.

I think I saved the game on another memeory card at one point, so I will have to check that. I would prefer not to go that far back, but part of the deal I suppose when ya screw up.
