Well, Final Fantasy Tactics should go up with possible theories for the possibility of perfection. It stands alone as the best Final Fantasy game. It has the most depth, and not your typical romance Final Fantasy story. This game deals with inner feelings, how most people are oppurtunists, and how a small band of rebels try to change it, and fail. Great game. The best game ever made, possibly.

Let me guess Cid you don't like chess either,
cuz' thats what FFT baisicly is really complicated
chess. I'm not saying that it's the greatest either
it can get pretty boaring but it's definately up there.
The storyline is novel worthy and the graphics aren't
overly done so it's a good game to play when you
need your brain to calm down. + there's sompthing
very satisfying about the feeling you get when you
kill sompthing. There isn't that feeling of 1 down
hundreds of thousands to go, there's maybe 8 enemies
in a battle and you know it. Anyway FFTA is the
sucky one, at least to me. Whenever I go to play it
it feels like I'm doing work yet I still want to play,
its a horrible feeling (shudders) . Well I've gone on
long enough C ya.

I agree that FFT isn't chess. Chess is insane with it depth. With the board style being the only simliarity. It does have a great story line, that is heavy in betrayal, all in the name of political power and a more super natural power.

As for it being repetitive. The only way I could see that is if you mean the battles. Which all RPGs have repetitive battle systems. Espically your typical FF. With the only inovation being ATS.

Well you have to consider that RPGs are based off the world of D&D. And how else is it going to allow your characters to level up or what not. The only way is through random battles. It is a necessary evil. They become annoying rather quickly. I guess if you just want a great story, watch a movie or read a book.

Ok, Maybe I was a little overzealous in my
comparison. But, it's a good time killer, a
REALLY good time killer each battle takes at
least 10-15 min.. In my opinion it's only flaw
is that you can't save in the middle of the
loooong battles. Although that malody was
cured in FFT:A my afformentioned hatred for
that game still stands.

Cut FFTA some slack, kupo! I'm sure all the other Final Fantasies are better, but that doesn't mean it's a sucky game... kupo... It IS a Gameboy Advance game after all. Sorry for sounding offencive, kupo!

Hmmm

FFT is amazing.
FFTA is....not.

These are the reasons I hate FFTA:

Learning abilities from weapons (Yes I hate 9 also)
Too childish, not serious at all.
You reach every job class too soon
Different job classes for each race...gay.

FFT could get boring like, near the end of the game, but I only did like 35 missions and I was bored of this one...

Should have been a SEQUEL.

Too many items can only be obtained by stealing, therefore you can miss out on a LOT of good stuff.

Music wasnt as good.
LAWS!!!!!!! OMG WTF WERE THEY THINKING...
Why on GBA...a sequel to one of the best games ever, on a Game Boy.gogo Square-Enix...

That about does it.

FFTA wasn't really that bad. The worst thing that I can say about it is that it is on the GBA (just a personall problem with playing it lol) The game it's self is actually quite good IMO. Not as good as the first but trying to compare something to that is hard. But I definately did not think that the origional was bad. IMO it was one of the best things that Square ever produced. Stroy displays my feelings about certain things well so that's a plus lol

I don't like people saying that FFTA is too kiddy, or that it's childish. It's not.

The laws? A challenge. If you want law free, go fight in the Jagds where people actually die at the end of the battle. I myself find the laws to be a challenge to your everyday battle where you just put in your strongest characters and kick ass.
You're forced to use job classes that are 'legal'. Besides, if you don't like some of the laws, use the damn Anti-Law cards! That's what they're there for! The best one is "Allmighty" which takes away all of the laws.

Storyline sucky compared to FFT? Pssh, it can't even be COMPARED to FFT, because it's NOT EVEN A SEQUEL! COMPLETELY DIFFERENT! I can't stress that enough people!

The storyline is freaking awesome! It's realistic to the core! Not the Final Fantasy world bit, but the deeper meanings behind it. If anyone actually bothered to pay attention to what the characters said and what they went through, you'll see that real life people have the same problems.

Spoiler:
Marche always gave his brother everything. He could never ask for anything for himself. It was always his brother, Doned. (In a wheelchair.) Yet his brother thought that Marche had everything; friends, walking, everything. Yet when Marche told him, Doned finally understood. And Mewt? The world came into place all because of Mewt. It was his escape from the harsh reality. He was the Lord of the place. In real life he always got picked on, and his dad was a bum, and his mother was gone. He never wanted his mother to leave. As the story goes on, you find out that Mewt is the most torn. He knows they have to go back home, but he wanted things to stay the way they were. Ritz? She was embarassed of her white hair. So she dyed it. Then Shara convinced her that she was special, that she had the hair of the Viera, Ritz was Chosen to have white hair. So that made her feel better naturally. Sure it was silly for Ritz to be embarassed by her white hair, but any girl would be right? You have to remember that the characters are kids, folks. Not adults. So all in all, FFTA's storyline is more realistic than FFT's. Think about it. There's a whole lot of meaning behind everything. The guy Llednar... he's Mewt's violent and agressive side.

I myself find FFT and FFTA to be equal in terms of their audience. The learning abilities through weapons? I happen to like that feature. To each their own, though.

I don't much like FF Tactics. WAY too confusing! I bought it not too long ago, spent what seemed like an hour threw the tutorials, and died too many times. All because the battle style was... WAY too confusing. I've gone threw the first two battles, and I believe I've got over an hour of time. It's the battles is why I don't play it. The story line, however, seems interesting. Too bad the battles suck way too much to play it threw...
