How does this part of the Forums work?

Ah . . . this is what we call the role-playing forum. It is as it is called, you role-play in the forum with other people. Role-playing in a sense, is creating a story from out of nothing with other collaborating writers.

When role-playing, you would start a topic and in your first post, you would post an introductory to the role-play you are starting. What it needs to include is a background to the story you are hoping to create, and probably some settings to set some starting grounds for other joining role-players. You take the role of a character you create and write a plot that involves that character you role-play as. There could be an end or no end to a role-play, but that mainly depends if you want to end it or not.

A role-play usually lasts for a long time depending on the activity of the role-players. It can, however, die on the first post due to nobody joining. To keep a role-play alive, you'll have to work things out with other people to keep an interesting story that can be a motivation for others to continue the story.

There are certain rules to role-playing. One is use your imaginations. Make the impossible possible, but don't overdo it because it'll kill the role-play very quickly. Then there's god-modding. God-modding is what we call becoming a god. By doing so, you kill off other player's character or alter their part of the plot without their permission to your liking. It is not recommended to do so as it'll hurt the role-play, and the player's mood in the role-play. If you feel the need to tweak something, talk it out with the role-player.

When role-playing, please don't post less than a paragraph of story because it is considered spam in role-playing. Spam is not good and if you want your role-play to do good, post at least 4 paragraphs of story and encourage your role-playing friends to do so too. Not only does it add more meat to the role-play, but it'll also give it more content to read in which it'll make it better. However, don't overdo the length and make a novel post because not everyone can read something for so long and it could really lower interests.

Last but not least, there will be no use of signatures in this forum as it simply clutters the story of a role-play. No matter if it's only a word, no signature is no signature so please abide by the rules. I won't issue warnings seeing as I see no point in it, but if you continue to leave your signature on, I'll have no choice but give warnings. In this forum board, about three warnings could mean a ban, so heads up.

So that's the basics of it I hope, may have left a few details here and there, but if you still have questions that you are unsure of or confused, feel free to give me a private message or post on this thread, which I'll set as a question thread for role-playing.

or you could just go "i use my ultra mega nuclear bomb blast gravitron-Z hyper machine gun attack and itll kill you anyway" whch is essentialy what happens in the end but it misses out all the guff in between

I have been involved in The Legend of Zelda Role-Playing stories before. I am wondering is the (USER-WRITER-CHAPTER) used on this forum?

EDIT: Ah right, I just understood what you're trying to ask by seeing one of your other post in the forum. If you read what I posted above, you'll see what this forum is about. You can also tell the way how this forum works by reading various role-playing topics around here.

Basically, you join others in a collaboration in writing a role-play. It is not just one person story. You write with others, plan in tells or OOC (out of character) topics in the sub forum that is specifically made for that role-play. As for what you are talking of, original fanfictions or just fictions, you can view them in the Fanatics' Tower.

By the way, please delete your post in After The Rainfall- A Soldier Rp or edit it if you're planning to join. If not, I will have to delete it myself and issue you a pre-warning.

The HP system is something else and is not related to this forum board. For more information about the RPG system, check the Forum Announcements section in the boards.

In some forums you can double post but not many always check at the top when you first enter a Forum and see the Sticky threads
