TOA warmup room 1
Here's the plan. If you're bored and anxious, come right on in.
The setting is whatever the first person to show up makes it. The fight will follow all of the TOA rules (shown in the signup thread), but the time and place is up to you guys. Mostly because we don't have the TOA grounds set yet, that's why. The first person to post sets stuff up, blah blah yada yada. The second person will actually be the OPPONENT. The second person is free to attack the first, but must be aware that the third person to arrive will be the teammate of the first. The fourth will team with the second. Realize that if a fourth person doesn't show up, then the second person will be somewhat screwed over. It could happen in the real thing, so there's no reason why you shouldn't practice it now. The plan is to get some of you used to the teammate style of battling. Once all four people show up, I want them to post in order, 1 2 3 4. Your teammate WILL have control of your character in the TOA, so s/he might as well control it now too. This builds the opportunities for team attacks and other various teamwork-related options. I don't want to see a fifth person posting here. Once four people have shown up, I'll open a second warmup room. It'll keep you busy and interested. NO JUDGING WILL COME OF THE WARMUPS. However, you can be critiqued on your posts. In the header/title line, write (critique) and either Psiko or I will PM you a constructive criticism of your work. Though it may seem insulting at times, please realize that we are helping you better your writing for the tournament. And please... lighten up and enjoy yourselves! It's not tourney time yet... |

It was a bright, colorful day in the shadowy forest, miles away from where the new Tournament of Arms was to be held; and Shadow had just learnt some new skills that he would hope to help him win this season's tournament. Although with Faolan on holiday, he had no way of training himself before the tournament, so he had no choice but to train himself solo for the time being. In his mind he knew that most of these new techniques hadn't been fully tested out yet, and he needed some sort of way to perfect them, and maybe give them a sort of name to strike fear in his opposition.
He needed a solution to his strongest and newest fighting style he deemed as the "Sentoryu Kesari" style. In which Sentoryu has the meaning of three. He came up with this style by using both of his katana, and the magic that lies deep within him. During the off season of the Tournament of Arms, he discovered a way to form a blade with his magic, and with that he decided to use it as a third blade. All he would really need before the tournament actually started, was someone to train with so he could perfect his new techniques, and maybe help him name the techniques as well, and after training for a while with his two katana, he thought he should finally start training his third and final fighting style. Although it'd be better to actually train with something that fought back instead of chopping down all the trees in the great forest, because he didn't want to massacre such a great field of nature. Dimitri walked slowly through the forest, his steps short trying to avoid anything that hindered his path. He had been walking for days, and it grew tiresome. But it had to be done. He was still a long way away from where he wanted to be, the battleground of the TOA, he had never seen the arena with his own eyes but he had heard of its splendor. A magnificent coliseum created for one purpose, fighting.
Dimitri’s walk continued, the hot sun beating down upon him, despite the cool relaxing feeling of the forest, it was quite hot. Dimitri’s arm was aching from carrying his axe but he persevered, he consistently promised himself he would take a break in ten minutes, but in his mind that ten minutes never came. Suddenly he reached somewhere he had not expected, an impassible area of the forest. Well nothing was impassible, just difficult. This had been the most action he had seen for a day or two. He wielded his axe masterfully as it sliced through the brush. Dimitri continued walking forward his axe swinging wildly clearing his path. Eventually he made his way through the shrub, the path was littered with natural obstacles like branches and rocks. It was basically an animal track through the rest of the forest. He had been through this forest before and remembered it vaguely, but abruptly he stopped, he saw something he didn’t remember, something that shouldn’t be there. Many trees had been cut down leaving the trunks scattered across the landscape. Someone had been through here, destroying everything in their way. By the looks of things his or her technique was impeccable, the slices upon the stumps were so smooth, only a blade of great magnificence could manage such a thing. Dimitri admired the work of the unknown lumberjack but could not stand around all day, he continued to walk, he felt invigorated by what he had seen, perhaps this would be his chance to test his skills against a real opponent. If luck favored him the person he was looking for would not be far away. |

Wrath walked through the forest looking for Shadow but, he couldn't find him.Wrath needed some action before the tuornament. He wasn't really doing any fighting in the future but, he did come back to the best to the past fight in the tournament for a special reason. When Wrath turned around he saw a man with a huge axe. This was just what Wrath wanted a fight with a really strong opponent. He decided he would find Shadow first before he fought this guy.Wrath wasn't sacred it was just he didn't know how his opponent was.

Dimitri had now changed his method of transport from a slow walk to an all out sprint, he was close he could feel it. He carried his axe at his side swinging back and forth with his arm incessantly. He had been running for the last ten minutes and still no sign of his prey, but he knew he would catch up, he knew he would find the person with enough skill to rip apart fifty or more trees with one clean slice each.
Suddenly Dimitri stopped, he could feel the eyes of someone watching him, and he turned to his left to see someone looking at him cautiously. Dimitri lifted his axe to the ready preparing in case this was the person he was looking for. In his own mind he was sure of it, who else would be wandering these woods? It’s not like this was a special event or anything. He began to walk towards the man who looked at him studying him carefully. “Who are you?” called Dimitri nervously. Despite his strong appearance, in a confrontation Dimitri was rather timid. Timid until the fighting began that is. The man didn’t answer. But he did begin to reel away looking around, searching for someone. “Who are you?” Called Dimitri again with more assertiveness. Dimitri stopped dead in his tracks. Amongst the soft and silent rainforest he could hear the sound of footsteps, he didn’t know where they were coming from but there was someone else in this forest… |
