What are posts?
The number of replies and created topics a person has made throughout their membership. However, posts don't increase if you post in the New Members forum or the Chat Gaming subforum of General Chat.

What is a referral?
A referral is something counted to a member in their profile. You can get a referral by having a friend sign up, and enter your username in the register field under "Referral"

How do I use an avatar?
You do this through the User CP (Control Panel) by clicking on the "Edit Avatar" link. There is currently no limit as to WHEN you can upload a custom avatar, however, you need to REGISTER properly first before you can do such things (ie, if your still waiting for your Email Validation, you cannot edit your Avatar, last I was aware) Scroll to the bottom and you'll see a field to enter the url of the avatar or the option to upload it from your hard drive.

Optionally, you can choose from the list of avatars that TFF already if you dont have anything to upload. Theres about 500 or so, so you arent excatly limited to choice.

How do I get a picture in my signature?
One way, use the HTML tag <img src="http://www.mysite.com/myimage.jpg">

How do I change my title?
Go into your User CP (Control Panel) and select "Edit Profile." You should see a section towords the top of the newly loaded page that says "Custom User Title" Enter your new title in that box and click "Save Changes" at the bottom. Wham. You have your own title.

I'm not sure where to post a topic. What should I do?
Either contact a mod or take your chances. Post it in the forum you think it best fits in, if it doesn't belong, a mod will move it.

What is a role playing battle, or a role playing adventure?
Role playing battles (RPBs) are stories in which one character faces one or more. You control your character, and you tell a story of what that character is doing. Role playing (RPing) is the same thing, except RPs normally have a much grander storyline, and a series of fights or whatnot.

Forum times aren't appearing properly, what should I do?
Go into your User CP (Control Panel) and select "Edit Options" and scroll down to where it says "Date & Time Options" and change your time offset. Defautly it's at GMT, which is London time. What is reputation?
Reputation is your way of showing if you agree/disagree with what a member is saying in his or her post, or if you like or dislike said post. You click on the reputation icon (It's on the bottom of the left side. A button marked with a checkmark and an X) and then select "Agree" or "Disagree" and you can choose to leave a comment if you wish. You can view your current reputation by going to your User CP (Control Panel) and it'll list your reputation. It's completely annonymous.

The forum changed colors on me! Help!
Go into your User CP (Control Panel) and select "Edit Options" and scroll down to where it says "Forum Skin" Click the drop down menu and select one of the current 3. Forum default, Old Skool TFF, or The Final Fantasy Forums vBulletin 3 Style. Forum default is the same as Old Skool TFF. Select the one you want and then click "Save Changes" and you're done.

How do I post a poll?
When you post a thread, in the Additional Options (under the text around the post screen) you will see a "Add Poll to this thread" and you will have the ability to set how many questions you want to put into it. Simple enough, next screen you will be presented with your poll questions and such, you hit submit, and bang, your set. On the other hand, however, if you screw up a poll option or whatever, get in touch with the Mod of the respective forum you are posting it in and they can correct it for you, or an S-Mod since they mod all forums.

Who are the admins?
Admins are the people with the highest power on the boards. They moderate all forums and have the ability to edit many things. The current admins are Fuzz (Owner of The Final Fantasy) and Soldier #819.

What are S-Mods?
S-Mods are a lower form of admins, but a higher form of mods. They have the power to moderate all forums, not just one single respective forum. They can close, edit, delete, move, re-open, and issue warnings in every forum across the board, as well as ban members. Our current Super Moderator staff is Raine Ikazuchi, LocoColt04, Andromeda, and Dawezy.

What are mods?
A moderator has the power to close topics, issue warnings, move topics, and merge topics within their respective forums.

What is HP?
HP is simply a reflection of how much you've posted overall, and how active you've been. To have full HP, you need to post 5 times a day, on average.

Who are the mods/super mods/administrators?

How do I become a mod?
You don't ask for it. Moderatorship and Supermoderatorship is something given to only a select few who have earned it.

How do I do that black box?
Simply use the [*spoil]text[/spoil] tag. Remove the *, obviously.

How do I make a poll?
While posting a reply using the "Post Reply" button, scroll below your text editor and you should see different options you can use. Attach, etc. One of those options is to make a Poll. Check the box to make a poll and once you submit, you will be taken to a page to write out your question and choices. (2-10)

That's a pretty good idea, IMO, Sean. I think maybe it should also address some of the most commonly asked questions as well though, like the ever popular sports forum request.

One thing though, you might want to change the expanation for posts, since it doesn't truly explain posts.

I would suggest changing it to:

The number of replies a person has made throughout their membership.

Oh, and there's a typo in question two. Should be "What", not "Whas"

Heh, Merlin already has something simular typed up (or was it Mike? hm.. was a while ago) anyway.. yeah, i'll sticky this so it dont go anywhere and its out in the open for display.. oh, and i fixed that typo.. and one other thing i should mention.

The Gil System IS WORKING its just a bit erm, slow, to catch on, you will notice Gil increases when you say, make threads, you'll get a boost (around 10-15 i think) and when you reffer a user you get 15 Gil

EDIT: yeah, 5 for a thread lol. did it twice to make sure.

EDIT#2: oh, and if you make a post/thread under the 130 character limit.. you get neither your gil or your post, infact you get SUBTRACTED gil.. in the area of 5 to 20.

Aye, i just went and edited some shit then Usagy. Removed all that gil jazz, from my experience and as well as i know Merlin, there wont be a gil hack installed anytime in the near future IMO. So, i just edited some stuff in the top post so its more accurate and links are there for the n00bs lol.

I updated the FAQ, adding the description of HP. I like this thread, as it should lead to less repetitive questions. Please use this valuable resource. I'm going to start getting even more irritated at people who post questions that are in here, so please be aware. That's why I've added this post, so that it looks updated.
