Favourite battle?

FFVIII had some great battles. I loved them. One or two were a bit tedous, but none were terrible.
So which battle was your favourite?

Mine was the ending battle against Ultemecia, I love fighting that one. It's no challenge, but I still enjoy doing it as the music rocks, ultemecia looks cool and interesting stuff happens at the end.

Now I'm off to post a similar topic in Alexandria ^_^

My favourite would have been the fight with Seifer and Adea at the end nof disc one.....i like the fights with seifer but that one would have been my favourite, though not the mention the end battle was pretty good...but i say the fights with Seifer

or the fights with Biggs and Wedge...they were always quite funny, get demoted after every loss hehe.

You mean Edea Kou? But I would agree with Neo Necron, I enjoy the Ultimecia battle in a way it is the ultimate battle, though she is actually not the most powerful Omega Weapon is. But Ultimecia fun to fight because of the stages and the wondering how long before you get your team. Though it always like two of them and the third comes last after the others are dead.

I would have to agree with NN and Andro here. The final battle was the best, mainly just for the music. Espically during her 2nd/3rd form. Thats the only real reason I have.

I actually enjoyed the Edea Seifer fight(s) despite that they were pretty much pointless in outcome. They had an interesting set up (tons of FMV scenes), were relatively simple and gave a reward to players who regularly drew from enemies. I think it was one of the first instances where a player got a major boost from taking one slight action earlier in the game by getting Carbuncle? I think it was regardless that you lost the thing, but I had heard if you fell in battle it still advanced the plot but for the fighters, they got exp?

Then another perk, the whole separating into two groups thing also meant the player could guide Quistis ^_^ giving every side character the chance to lead the others or wander about by themself. Except Zell?

My favorite battle would be the battle between Seifer and Squall at the end of disc one. Its just so cool, the way Squall starts by rushing up to him in the car. Plus, its one of the few times your party doesnt bully up on people. Three on one = not fair ever.

Wel, since I havenīt finished FFVIII yet, I donīt know anything about the fourth disc fights, but I have to agree with El Uno Nut. the fight between Seifer and Squall at the end of disc one is just so cool.

Ultimecas fight was the best. Great music, and great magic like apocalypse which didn’t seem that strong, but still I used it.

I also like the battle with Adel, because you had to be careful not to kill Rinoa.

I'd Give a big w[][]t to the Ultima Weapon and Omega Weapon Fights. Kept me on my toes. And in the end, I expected them to be much harder.

And yes, Ultimecia was pretty sweet as well, but more attacks would've been appreciated. And it would've been more of a challenge if Greiver had been a bit faster... slow ass piece of shit.

I like most battles, except the really annoying ones with all the wimpy monsters, such as Bite Bugs and enemies like that. So annoying. But, one of my favourite battles has got to be any of the Squall/Seifer/Edea ones. They were all pretty cool and there was lots for you to draw. Honestly, all you had to do was use Aura on Squall and the battle would be over in no time.

Great thread!

My favorite battle is probably against Seifer in Disc 3 though. I loved this battle I thought it was intense, and it was the last fight against him. I also really enjoyed the battle with Mobile Type 8 directly before this battle, his Corona, and Medigo Flame attacks rule.

Lastly, I loved the battle with Tiamat in Disc 4, that was fricken cool. A GF gone bad, that is what Tiamat was. Intense and tough!

This game rocks!

I kind of liked the battle against Bahamut..it was quite tough in the beginning for me though. It had this whole powerful spirit thing behind it. The power was truly shining from Bahamut..

I have to agree though on the Wedge/Biggs thing..they were just simply too stupid....they were never a real challenge..but they were always there for entertainment.

Peace out

Ultimacia

The battle with Ultimacia was best for one reason only... it was a long one. It wasn't challenging for me because I had my characters stats pretty high and had junctioned them with revive and recover. Plus anytime selphie was in it, she'd just beat the crap out of Ultimacia, because her strength was at 255 and she was junctioned with "Counter". I just wish the Ultimacia had used some magic with status effects, to keep me on my toes.
