Memories of the Past:The Continuation

((OOC: start posting the stuff in order like it is here and here so we can keep going from near where we left off...))

Tyrbane awakes and notices the others were gone. He pulls a piece of paper from his pouch and writes the following:
By the time you read this, I will have reached the cave with my old things. You should head to the east of the ruined bridge. Soon you will come upon an encampment of soldiers guarding a large road. The only way into the city we wish to reach is travelling on that road. Of course these soldiers will not let us pass no matter what. They must be eliminated. Wiether or not you choose to head to that encampment, they will find you. Every day they go along the river and search for any intruders. Either way, they must be confronted and eliminated. I will meet you there after I retrieve my belongings. It will not take me long. They are pretty good fighters, but the soldiers tend to fight alone instead of a group. They think they are so good they each can do it themselves. That is their weakness. I will catch up with you shortly.

Tyrbane places the note on the ground with a dagger through it, holding it to the ground. It was placed in a location that would be easy to see. He then heads towards the west and eventually comes upon the cave. As he walks into the cave, he could hear a low growl from deep within.

"Who art thou and what business brings you here?" said a deep voice. A large black dragon emerges from the darkness and aproaches Tyrbane.

"I am Tyrbane, son of Silverhand. I have come for my belongings."

"If thou art truelly Tyrbane, son of Silverhand, then defend thyself!" The dragon lurched forward at Tyrbane, who quickly dodged out of the way.

"You'll have to do better than that old boy." Tyrbane unsheaths his sword and runs up to the dragon, slicing its underbelly.

"How on earth did you hit me there? My underside was completely covered." The black dragon breathes deeply and unleashes a stream of flames as Tyrbane.

Tyrbane is hit by the explosion and is blasted through the cave wall. "That stung," Tyrbane mutters as he stands up. He walks back into the cave and faces the dragon again. "My my. Throwing me through a wall huh? Real cute." Tyrbane grabs his sword and attempts to run behind the dragon.

"Not so fast, you pathetic human," screams the dragon as it turns and strikes Tyrbane with his large tail. The dragon then walks up and places his foot down on Tyrbane's chest. "Give up or I shall smoosh you!"

Tyrbane stares into the black dragon's eyes. As their eyes met, the dragon recognized him.

"Thou art truelly Tyrbane, son of Silverhand! You fight well." The dragon refused to remove his foot. "Why dont you just move my foot out of the way?"

Tyrbane lifts his arms and grabbed the large foot. He pushed upward and is able to move the foot to the side. "Bahamut, old friend, your foot is much larger than before!"

"You are stronger than before. You may have your things. Your horse is still fine, even though I wanted to eat it on many occassions. If thou ever need my assistance, just call and I will come."

Tyrbane stands up and begins to collect his old belongings, including a strange looking artifact with writing on it:
Use only in an Emergency! Causes you and your party to be temporarily immune to time magic. "I knew I would need this one day. My mom was a smart woman. Hopefully this will be enough to counteract that mage's abilities..." Tyrbane then continued gathering and loading onto his horse. He was busy for quite some time.

Question

(This is what you want correct? We need to get that "Your not alone" music back as well... lol... ahh, seeing that Foulu avatar brought back Memories in itself... and shouldent we start back at the VERY beginning, not in the second page?)

As Rowin and Tec return from there trip, with supplies in hand, they find the note posted on the floor... "Well then, it seems we will press on without him..." Rowin says looking at the note and then takes it and inscribes three words on the back
"see you soon"

"Well then, let us be off" Tec said while strapping up his armour, and putting his traveling cloak on over it... and then once again, adjusting the straps for his sword, while Rowin was making similar preprations... and with that, after pinning travel beaten path... and when they reach the river, they find themselves suddenly surrounded by about 4 Soldiers....

"I thought Tyrbane said they fight alone?" Rowin said, as he unscheathed his sword and prepared for the skirmish that was about to commence.

"Guess that things are different now...." Tec also pulled out his great broadsword, and looked around at the four... "THen again, its only two apiece... lets show them how its done"

A fifth Soldier comes out of the darkness ahead, follwed by a robed man, his hood covering his face. This new soldeir had many ribbons and an insignia on his mantle, showing him to be the leading officer, outranking the others...

"You must stop, there is no passing here, by order of the king... wait, I see you bear the insignia of the king on your pack, though I have never seen you before..." The officers eyes flit to anger, as he thinks over what it could mean... " You must be a friend of that scum Tyrbane... you will die, there is no second chance"

The four soldiers rush in on Rowin and Tec... drawing there short swords. Teclis runs up to the first one, and does a jump slash, brining his sword down on the unexppecting Soldier, then turns to the other, who is just reaching him, and parry's with him for a minut

((Allright, I've got some free time on my hands right now, and its taking a little too long for everyone to post their own parts, so I will post them all, and post who wrote them. Yes, this was back when I was kinda new, and still used asterisks, so shoot me. Oh, and Merlin, what si the MIDI that is playing on page one called? Thats an awesome song.Okay, from the start)

Merlin: Tyrbane walks towards the group, who is sitting around a campfire. He takes a seat and brushes off the dust from his cloak, causing the flames to rise to engulf the particles. He looks at the members one-by-one, noticing they are all tired from the training earlier. On the fire lays a large piece of charred meat. Tyrbane takes the meat off the fire and places it on a tree stump. He then unsheaths his sword and cuts up the meat, handing a piece to each member around the fire. He places his sword for a moment in the fire to cleanse it and then re-sheaths it.
"I have seen many events over the years...some good and some that turns my stomach to think about. One of the latter occured about two years ago. It was a day that seemed like any day, a beautiful one, filled with the sound of children's laughter and birds singing their sweet songs. But this day was not like any day. No, it was far from it. It was to be the happiest day of my life but became quite horrible. When I was returning to my small cottage, like usual, I was greeted by the royal guards of Quel'thalas. One might think it a bit odd for a mere traveller to be treated so kindly by royal guards. One must do something extrodinary for such a thing. The princess of that land and I were in love. The king and queen at first thought badly of me, but soon realised that I was the man who would one day marry her..."
A tear came to Tyrbane's eye and he quickly wiped it away.
"Anyways, like I was saying, I was greeted by the royal guards who protect the princess. Seeing as how they were near my cottage, I assumed she must have stopped by for a visit. Those guards tag along everywhere she goes. When I opened the door, I saw something I would never forget. My father and my love, Gwinnyn, together. My father was a wicked man and a powerful wizard. I do not know what happened then, but the outcome was horrifying! Suddenly, I was enraged at the discovering and at that moment, room exploded before my eyes. The royal guards quickly came and noticed I was the only one moving. They picked me up off the ground, huddled over my dear Gwinnyn and they then carried me off to prison."
Tyrbane then turned and looked over his shoulder, as if looking for someone. He then quickly returned his gaze to the fire.
"I brought you all here tonight to tell you of my journey. I will be travelling back to that fated place, back to Quel'thalas. I must find out what really happend that day. I have heard of a powerful time mage that now lives there, who can help one to see his past. The person must be willing to find out the truth of what happend in some event in their life, or else it does not work. A friend of mine that still lives there as well told me of this. I wish to meet this man and see if he can help me. I also wish for some of you to journey with me. The way will be difficult. Only three can come with me because it is too dangerous for more than that. I also wish to retrieve my belongings I had stashed in a nearby cave. I know they are still there because I sealed a summon beast in it. The only problem is the beast must be defeated to retrieve my things. Most notably, I have a large stash of gold and many weapons. That is also why I need help, to defeat the summon. Only the strong may come and those who wish to understand something of their past. If you are brave, then come with me and let us make this clan even stronger! I will return in the morning to see who here is willing to go. Those of you who wish to go need the sleep anyways."
Tyrbane then got up and left the area. The fire slowly died out as the clan members sat their thinking about what was said.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sid: After a momment of decision, a young elf of about 21 years stands up, his cloak swirling in the wind, and his shadow dancing on the ground... his fair elven face looks determined and passive, but yet shows sorrow beyond years of understanding... and his body, though lean, is muscular, and battle hardened from years of traveling and experience.... "I will gladly join you on your Quest Tyrbane... for I know your sorrow, or similar to it... and my years of travel and experience will hopefully be enough to keep me going. I need to get out and test my skills in the world again, my blade grows weary of not being used, and my magic is getting old, I need to fresen it up... my blade is at your service, along with my life" responded Teclis, with a look of determination on his face... and with that, he reaches behind his back, and draws his great rune encrusted blade, and stabs it skyward... "Who else is willing to embark on this mission of danger and mystery, who will also join us in Tyrbane's Quest??"

--------------------------------------------------

cloud711: A young man, 18 years of age, sat at the opposite end of the roaring fire, gnawing on a peice of rough meat. Although very young, his face was already weathered from battle, with a large scar on his right cheek, his long, bluish colored hair waving behind him in the cold wind as he slowly crept towards the fire to obtain more warmth. He carried two katanas, strapped to the back of his blue armor, but they were now at his side because of the long, brown cloak on his back.
"I will join you on this quest Tyrbane. My name is Rowin. I used to live in Quel'thalis with my parents and my little brother. We were a poor family, always being ridiculed by the aristocratic nobles who had their money and were well educated. I went to school for a few years but then I was home schooled due to the fact that I was made fun of at school numerous times by the wealthy children. My mother wasn't very educated but she tried her hardest to teach me. Anyway, back to what I was saying. One day, I traveled to the neighboring village of Ingrin to buy some wheat for my mother. When I returned to the village and got to the town walls I looked up into the blue sky, puting my hand over my eyes because of the suns glare, and saw large balls of smoke rising into the air. I ran to the locationwher the smoke was coming from and my jaw dropped in disbelief when I saw my house being engulfed in flames. I ran in the front entrance and my brother was caught under a fallen beam. I got him out and told him to run. I tried to go further in the house but the flames were to large and hot. I then heard the ceiling crack and I ran for the door and escaped as the house collapsed behind me. My fathers friend told me that he say my brother run out of the town and that he thinks that the fire was caused by a group of nobles because my father tried to get one of them arrested for taking his meat that he had bought. I left the town right after the funeral and searched for my brother, I haven't been back yet, and I haven't found my brother either. But I must go back and find out what truly happened to my parents that night. That is why I would love to join you."

---------------------------------------------------

Merlin: A cloaked figure aproached the Tantalus members, who were all asleep except two, Teclis and Rowin. The figure then removed the cloak and tossed it on the ground in a heap.
"I really hate wearing that ridiculous cloak," wispers Tyrbane to the two. "But I must keep the locals from knowing who I am. Over here, so we do not wake up the rest."

Tyrbane points towards a large tree and the three head over to it.

Tyrbane continues in a normal voice, "For some odd reason when I originally went into town to buy some items, all the townsfolk came out of their shops and houses and bowed down before me. It was quite strange to say the least. They would not say a thing when I asked them why they were bowed down. I think they had mistaken me for someone else. If you need anything from town you should go and get it, especially foodstuffs. No sense in dying from starvation before we even get there... If you have a horse, or some other animal/creature similar, bring it along, it will take less time to arrive at our destination. I will wait here and sharpen my daggers."

Tyrbane pulled out a small dagger from his boot. He then removed a dagger from his other boot, his back pocket, and underneath his tunic.

"My friend once broke his sword, pulled out a dagger, which was knocked away, pulled out another which was also knocked away and then pulled out a third, quickly killing the assasin trying to murder him. He then said 'One can never have too many back up weapons'. I doubt I will ever need them, but you never know what will happen. Plus, they make great carving knives when your friends forget theirs."

Tyrbane then began to sharpen his excessive amount of daggers.

-----------------------------------------------

Sid: Teclis laughs in a musment, his fair golden hair billowing in the wind, and his eyes a jolly blue... "A well trained elf should not need more than one weapon to defeat his enemy, but if so, he must have a backup, which will always be his magic... but, while we wait, might as well follow the lead" Teclis pulls his mighty broadsword from his back, and its cold blue tinged steal flickers in the distant firelight... and the jewels on the hilt shine with lustor deep within the jewel itself... Telclis leans against the tree, and inspects for any unwanted chips or breaks or faults in the metal, his deft thin fingers quickly going up and down the blade quickly and skillfully, and to the trained ear, quick whispers of magic can be heard as he reinforces his blade with the enchantments blessed upon it...

-------------------------------------------------

cloud711: "I always carry a dagger with me just in case, but I've never actually had to use it. I guess my katana's are good enough for me I think I'm gonna go up to the village and get some bread and fruit to pack for the journey, I won't worry about meat, I'm sure there will be plenty of game on the road ahead. Does anyone else need any potions or anything. I would be glad to pick them up for you."
*grabs his saddle of the log he was positioned on and proceeds to strap it onto his beautiful chocobo, whose coat shines brightly in the sun.*

--------------------------------------------

Merlin:"You know what is bad about these little daggers?" Tyrbane asked the two.
Tyrbane stands up and faces the large tree. He places two of the daggers in each hand and throws them quickly into the forest. Several moans of pain could be heard from the shrubbery surrounding the tree. Four men tumbled out of the bushes and collapsed at the feet of Tyrbane. They were wearing assassin clothing and carried switchblades, that were open in their hands. All four of the men moaned again and died.

Tyrbane answers, "They only last one time!"

Tyrbane picked up the bodies and tossed them into the forest. Just then a man arrives, with the insignia of Tantalus on his tunic.

"My lords! Sir! I have pressing news! I have just heard that Che has left again! He has abandoned us for that ninja group!" the man said in a very disdane way.

"Dear God! What on earth could possess him to do such a thing?" Tyrbane quickly asked.

The man replied, "I dont know sir, but he was in quite a hurry, we barely even had a chance to say goodbye! We even had to change our marching song!"

"I beg your pardon? You changed the marching song? What does that have to do with anything?"

The man quickly ran off before he could answer, to rejoin the rest of the members. They were all marching off to Tantalus Headquarters in the south. Their marching song was the famous marching song of Tantalus, which was modified due to the loss of a leader, sounded like this:

Lead: Sound off.
Members: ONE! TWO!
Lead: Sound off!
Members: THREE! FOUR!
Lead: Sound off.
Members: ONE! TWO! THREE! FOUR! One two... THREE FOUR!

Lead: Tyrbane's our leader and fighter.
Members: He was on a diet and now's much lighter!
Lead: Teclis's our leader and teaches battle.
Members: Now his ass is in the saddle!

Lead: Sound off.
Members: ONE! TWO!
Lead: Sound off!
Members: THREE! FOUR!
Lead: Sound off.
Members: ONE! TWO! THREE! FOUR! One two... THREE FOUR!

Lead: Tyrbane hates swords made of brass.
Member: If we use them he'll kick our ass!
Lead: Teclis is elven and knows some lore.
Member: We always ask him for some more!

Lead: Sound off.
Members: ONE! TWO!
Lead: Sound off!
Members: THREE! FOUR!
Lead: Sound off.
Members: ONE! TWO! THREE! FOUR! One two... THREE FOUR!

"What the hell! They totally changed around the song! What is that remark about a diet? What saddle are they talking about? Hmph."

Tyrbane walked back to the tree, picked up his sword and began walking towards the north.

"I think its about time to leave."

------------------------------------------------

cloud711: "Allright, I got the supplies, we should be all ready for the trip. I got plenty of bread and fruit, and I picked up some potions and ethers just in case. I used up almost all of the gil I had left but we should have enough supplies for the whole trip so it was worth it. And I saw some Tantalus members march by. They said that che had left for the ninjas. That sucks. Oh, and did you guys know that they changed the marching song??? Well I guess we should be off. "

---------------------------------------------

Sid: "che? Gone? what a loss, well... lets get ready to go then..." With that, Teclis stands up and scheaths his sword... and he straightens his traveling cloak... He looks over at TimonMeera, who is starting to wake "Timon, you are in charge of the clan while we are gone, ya hear?? well, let us be off!" and so the three head off into the darkness of the forest, and dissapear into the mists, to begin there quest...

-----------------------------------------------

Andy: As the group of three, Tyrbane, Teclis and Rowin, a young girl in her late twenties comes running from the camp site.
"I must come with you!"
It was Adrienne; she wore her long red hair up in a dusty, worn cloak with a hood. She had a look of desperation in her eyes.
"I will not be in the way I promise I can survive as well as the next man. You know that Tyrbane or you would not have called me to this camp a week ago. Now what do you say? May I join you all?"

(Adrienne was later killed an a small scirmish, his death was a great blow to the group)

---------------------------------------

cloud711: I, myself, would love to have another traveler along for the journey. But we need to make haste. It is at least midday and we need to make as much ground as we can before night.

----------------------------------------

Merlin: The group sets off on their journey to that fateful forest city in the north. After many days of travel, they come upon a large cliff-face, which extends quite a distance upward at a steep angle. There are two thick cables stretched out high above which reach up to the top of the cliff. There is no possible way for them to reach the top without climbing.
"This is quite peculiar," said Tyrbane to the others, staring at the cliff, "The last time I was in this area, there was no cliff here. There was also not these strange cables high above us. I suppose we should climb to the top, to investigate where it is that we are. It is unfortunate that we cannot just use those two cables, but they seem to be unsecure and too high up to possibly reach."

Tyrbane took off his pack, which he carried with him to keep his belongings. He opened it and took out a large amount of rope, metal spikes, and a small pickaxe.

"It is a good thing I brought along these. I was not sure what we might need. I did not think we would be climbing a cliff, but we do not have much of a choice. I will climb up part way and secure the rope to the cliff-face. We will have to go up in sections, to make it easier."

Tyrbane began to climb the wall of rock. About a third of the way up, he secured the rope to the rock with one of the spikes. He then called for the others to climb up to where he was. They could barely hear him because it was quite a distance between them.

------------------------------------------

Sid: "Well then, when at a mountain, do as the mountain people do"
With angelic grace and speed Teclis quickly climbs up to where Tyrbane is, and then helps him secure the ropes in place... so that the others can get themselves up as well...soon after much toil and some dirty work, the exausgted group reaches the top of the mountain, and find that it is nearly sunset....

"Whew, that was some mountain we had there" says Rowin "Any other surprises for us??"
"Well, we are going to ned to find a place to camp, and soon, before it gets dark, how about over there??" replys Tyrbane, pointing to a opening in the forest around them... and the group sets up camp there, relaxing in the time they have, Teclis lays down, and is instntly, soundlessly asleep.

"Well the first day of our journey has begun and gone" says Tyrbane, "And so far if this is the hardest it will get, then this will be over before we know it... but don't get to sure yet, Im sure it will not get this easy as we get closer to our destination..."

"I agree" Adrienne replys "we should all keep on our guard..."

-------------------------------------

Mike: A young man lands on his feet in the middle of the group with sword in hand.
"I will stop the evil in this mountain!" shouts the young man with the sword. As the group prepares to defend themselves the young man looks at them then lowers his weapon.
"Wait you're not wearing those uniforms. I am sorry I misstook you for someone else"
the young warrior turns his back to them and starts to walk away.
"I must be on my way I am on an important journey. Evil has moved across the land on the other side of these mountains. I am on my way to put an end to it."
The young warrior take's a few more steps, stops and looks back at the group.
"By the way I am Shenru, maybe we will see eachother again. If you reach a town called Quel'thalas tell them I am doing what I can to help them. till we meet again."

(Thought to be dead, Shenru was never heard from again.)

--------------------------------------

cloud711: "Wait. Where are you from, what kind of evil are you talking about?
*The warrior is too far for him to hear Rowin*

"Damnit, who the hell was that, and what was he talking about. First this mountain is here when it shouldn't be and then that guy comes searching for some unknown evil. This keeps getting weirder and weirder. Well, no use trying to understand it now, lets just get to sleep.

*Rowin pulls a blanket out of his pack and finds a small patch of grass to sleep on.*

"See you guys in the morning"

cloud711 has levelled up - (lv 1)
Merlin: Tyrbane noticed the leaving warrior and then wondered to himself, 'Quite strange how so many claim to have visited the Elven city of Quel'thalas. Things must have changed since I was there... This is beginning to be a strange journey.' He then fell back into a deep sleep.
In the morning, Tyrbane awoke with a startle. Before his eyes was something he remembered from his past, something he had almost forgotten about.

"My god! How on earth did THAT get here?!? I knew this area seemed strangely familiar and out of place but THIS? This city doesnt even belong on this planet! It belongs on a planet far from here. The question is 'how'. "

Tyrbane stared in wonder at the majestic city in front of him. It was a beautiful city with a large castle in the middle, surrounded by a body of water. The castle was a beautiful white and had a large sword on it pointing downward. The castle was none other than the wondrous Alexander, the legendary summon of holiness. Tyrbane quickly woke the others and pointed at the city.

"This is the city of Alexandria! It is a city on a far away planet I once accidentally stumbled onto. I had found a strange looking mirror one day and found that I could walk through it. When I did, I came upon this same city! It was not in the same condition it is right now though. The city had recently been ravaged by Bahamut, who was brainwashed at the time. I met the lovely queen of the city and her boyfriend. Her boyfriend was quite an odd fellow. He actually had a tail! Anyways, after visiting the townsfolk and helping them rebuild for a couple of days, I returned back through the portal. I destroyed the mirror so no one could use it for evil. What I dont understand is how on earth did Alexandria appear here? There is something strange going on on our planet, what I do not know. Obviously, the townsfolk were able to rebuild the city finally. Perhaps we should pay my old friends a visit. We cannot stay long though, we must continue our journey to Quel'thalas. Im starting to believe this new "time mage" in Quel'thalas has a little explaining to do. They are notorious for messing with the past. He must have stopped me from destroying the mirror. We must hurry, before he changes anything else! He might even try to erase us from history when he realizes we are coming. He might not tell me what I really want to know, but I will make him pay for messing with my past!"

--------------------------------------------------

Sid: Teclis wakes from his slumber and looks at Tyrbane strangely... "Umm, I see no city before us, only the edge of the Mountain we just climbed" As Tyrbane continues to walk to what he thinks is Alexandria... he doesnt realize he is about to walk to his doom... "Stop him!!"
Rowin, being the closest to Tyrbane, gets up and dashes after him, and catches him just before he would take the last step of his life... and he snaps out of the dream-liek trance he was in....

Bellanor looks at him "It seems your time mage likes to play with fire and illusions, and is targeting us when our guard is down, I could sense foul magic in the air..." You are going to need to tell us more about this time mage of yours, he is pretty good at his ability, how strong is his magic, he seems to plan to take us out one by one. we had better keep our guard up... lets post a watch tonight... Ill keep first watch, and when I tire, Ill wake Rowin... and then he will in turn wake Tyrbane, who will wake Adrienne... sound good??"

With that, Teclis soudlessly moves to a nearbyetree.. to sit, and watch everything which might harm the group

------------------------------------------------

Merlin: "He seems to play on our desires. I always did want to go back there, to Alexandria, but knew I never could. This mage's abilities are quite good to override one's common sense. There was no way for me to go back there, since I destroyed the mirror so well."
Tyrbane looks up at the stars and stares wonderingly.

"I think there are signs of his trickery before he actually does something. Remeber that strange fellow that came here saying he was going to Quel'thalas to 'fight evil'? He was quite a strange one, leaving before we could ask him what he meant. You know, it is almost as if my common sense, or consciousness was removed from me for a while. It spoke to us about how it was going back to Quel'thalas, which is what I am doing, to fight evil, but then faded away. No humans were ever allowed near that place other than me. Then, my subconsious, the part that creates things and is with us in sleep, took over and made me see what I wanted, or maybe, it was what the time mage wanted me to see from my past? I am not sure, but it is not something you want to go through. He seems to attack in our sleep, when our conscious self cannot do anything about it."

Tyrbane then turned his gaze to the mountainside and looked over.

"What I dont get is why he allowed you to stop me. Think about it, if he can so easily do that to me, a person trained to fight off 'mental attacks', being a mage and all, he could easily have done the same to anyone else most likely. Why did he allow you to stop me from falling? Perhaps... Perhaps he really doesnt want me to die. Maybe he is trying to tell me something...to explain something I tried to forget. This is all very strange. The bad thing is I no longer have the desire to sleep. I am fully awake."

-----------------------------------------------

Sid: "I think I just cought him off guard... I dont think he expected someone to catch him in the act like that, I was asleep remember?? I think he just underestimated us... thats all, we have to be extra carful now... since he wont make that mistake again... if you want you can take watch, Ill take my rest now"... with that teclis settles down and falls asleep soundlessly, and quickly.

--------------------------------------------

Merlin: Tyrbane looks off into the distance, towards the north. He hoped he could see their destination in the distance, but all he could see was dark forboding clouds. The clouds came from the west, rolling in quickly overhead. He could see lightning quite close to them, as the clouds continued to approach. The clouds opened up and poured their unending supply of freezing rain upon them. The rain quickly froze to anything it touched, especially the metal of their belts. Thunder pierced the air with a roar as a large bolt of lightning struck the tree at which the others slept. The tree split down the middle in two and quickly began to burn in a fiery rage.
Tyrbane fervently tried to wake the others, to no avail. They seemed to be in a deep sleep. The fire engulfing the tree seemed immune to the torrential downpour of rain, continuing to burn. In fact, the flames intensified, turning a bright blue and then white. Tyrbane wondered how a tree could possibly withstand that amount of heat or even produce it. Then, he saw. He saw what was causing the flames to grow strong. The lightning had struck his sword, the rainbow sword. Most recognized the sword for its amazing ability to bend light into the colors of the rainbow. Anything that can bend light waves, can also bend heat waves which are created by light. The sword was actually causing the flames to intensify and keep it from dying out.

Tyrbane quickly ran over to the burning tree and grabbed onto the sword. He quickly realized that it was a dangerous decision. The flames continued to leap from the sword in seemingly every direction. He took the sword and plunged it into the earth below.

All was quiet for a moment. He began to sit down when the ground beneath the group of travellers began shaking violently. Large cracks opened in the rocks, sending flames skyward. Tyrbane looked down at his feet and soon realized what was happening. The rocks beneath his feet began to sink downward, towards the ground far below. At first it was a gradual fall, but quickly became much worse.

"I was wondering how we were going to get off the mountain, but this is not what I had in mind!" yelled Tyrbane fiercely at the sky. All went black around him as he tried to keep from looking down.

The next morning, the travellers all awakened to a disturbing picture. They were no longer on a mountain, but on top of a pile of compacted rocks. There was no mountain around them any longer. In the distance they could see a large river with a bridge going across it. On the other side of the bridge was a large forest. They could hear the sound of a group of soldiers approaching from behind. Tyrbane tried to get up but could not move. The soldiers approached the travellers and then looked at the rocks. What was strange was that they were all no taller than three feet, they were dwarves.

The dwarf leader looked at the weary travellers and spoke, "You, laddes, are a bunch of witches! By what foul trickery did u fools destroy our home? This hare mountain has been here for a long time! You will all be arrested, y'hear? We'll burnya at the steak! Get up y'fools! What t'matter? Can't move? Serves ya right for destroying our home. You will die for your stupidness. But this one here, the elf guy..." The dwarf points at Teclis and continues, "You dont have to die. Elves are not the same as these stupid humans."

The travellers just stared bewildered at the dwarfs. They had been through a night of hell and wake up to a bunch of shrimps with axes, wanting to burn them as witches. It was too much strangeness for one night.

----------------------------------------------

Merlin: Tyrbane stands up and looks around at all the dwarves, making a point to remember their location.
Smiling evily, Tyrbane replied, "Oh you little midgets with your big axes think your so tough dont you? Well seeing as how you have no clue what it feels like to drop from several miles in the air unto the ground, why dont I show you."

A strange black aura quickly surrounded Tyrbane, causing a shadow to fall upon all of the dwarves. His eyes began to glow blue and his hair rustled in the air, as if there was a strong wind, which there wasn't. Tyrbane raised his hands slowly towards the air. As he did, the dwarves began to rise high up into the air, barely visible to the eye. When his hands were above his head, Tyrbane yelled up to them, "Now you shall see what a Freefall feels like! MuHaHahaha!" Tyrbane quickly dropped his hands to his sides and the dwarves rushed back down to the earth. The dwarves came smashing into the ground with a resounding 'thud'. The aura around Tyrbane dissipated and his appearance quickly returned to normal.

"They'll recover in a few moments. I did not drop them from a high enough distance to kill them. There is no need to annihilate the dwarves for their rudeness, it solves nothing. Hopefully they will learn from their mistake."

With that, Tyrbane picked up his things and began walking towards the bridge. Just then, the dwarven leader awoke from his stunned condition and slowly took out a dagger from his boot, hoping the humans would not notice. He then lifted his hand painfully and prepared to throw it straight at Tyrbane's head.....

-----------------------------------------------------

cloud711: *as the dwarf is releasing the dagger into the air, a sword cuts the sky and slashes the dwarf's wrist, dropping the dagger to the ground.*
"like hell your gonna get away with that you little scum."

*At this, 5 dwarves charge towards Rowin but he is too fast and soon they are laying on the ground before his feet, bloodied. The rest of the dwarves then start after the group and they all follow Tyrbane along the rope bridge. When the group reaches the center of the bridge, around 30 dwarves appear on the other side of the bridge, coming towards the travelers.*

"Tyrbane, grab onto something, we're going for a little ride."

*After saying this, Rowin lifts his sword high above his head, with his foot wrapped around a piece of rope connected to the bridge. As the dwarves close in to about 10 feet on each side, Rowin thrusts the sword down towards the britle rope.*

------------------------------------

Merlin: The three grab onto the ropes as Rowin cuts the bridge behind them. The dwarves behind tumble down into the speeding river below. The dwarves that were ahead were startled and fell down the side of the ravine, also going into the swift river. The dwarves are swept away at breakneck speed and soon encounter severe rapids. The current was too strong, they all perished, smashing into the rocks.
Rowin, Teclis, and Tyrbane struggle up the bridge, that had become a ladder and look towards the forest.

"I know this place," Tyrbane wispered, almost to soft to hear. "We are getting close. Before we arrive at the city, we need to go by that cave I described weeks ago. We could use a rest. It should be safe to stop here. Do not go into the forest, the time mage's powers are more focused there. Right now it will be impossible to tell what is real if we enter, before we are prepared. He will most likely try to tempt us tonight. Do not be a fool and follow his illusions. We will need the sleep, it will take all day to reach the cave without going through part of the forest. Hopefully we will find something usefull to fight off his magic."

As the night drew near, Tyrbane sat down and fell asleep.

--------------------------------------------

Sid: (Darn, I missed the fight)
"Well then, I will scout around looking for something to eat... for in that fall at the mountain, we seem to have lost most of our supplies..."

With that, Teclis straps on his sword, and adjusts it, so it would be easier to reach in case of need and dissapears back into the darkness of the night... looking for food...

"Well then, Ill keep an eye on him... so he doesnt get himself lost or in trouble..." Rowin says to himself, and then dissapears after Teclis, leaving Tyrbane sleeping in the cave alone. "Hey Teclis wait for me!" Rowin catches up with him... and he turns to face Rowin... "Good, between the two of us we will find plenty of food shortly, be quick thoough, for with the coming darkness will reveal the evil of the night..."

Merlin: Tyrbane awakes and notices the others were gone.

-----------------------------------------

Sid: As Rowin and Tec return from there trip, with supplies in hand, they find the note posted on the floor...

Teclis runs up to the first one, and does a jump slash, brining his sword down on the unexppecting Soldier, then turns to the other, who is just reaching him, and parry's with him for a minute.

-------------------------------------------

Merlin: Tyrbane finished packing his things. Just then, his vision goes black with a flash. When he closes his eyes, he sees what seemed like a premonition.
A man and what looked like an elf were fighting against five soldiers. The fight is fierce, two of the soldiers dying.
The picture is fuzzy, hard to make out who the individuals are. He opens his eyes, startled and sees the inside of the cave again.

"What on earth was that?" Tyrbane says with a startle.

Then another flash.

There is a large grassy hill with the same individuals down below. On top of the hill came a large fleet of soldiers, at least three hundred, charging towards the small group of people.

His sight returns to normal again. Once again a flash..

The two individuals were standing over the defeated soldiers. They were celebrating their hard fought battle. What they did not realize was the actual army of soldiers were approaching with much rapidity. The soldiers closed in from all sides. There were too many of them, no way to stop so many...The schene fades out.

Tyrbane opens his eyes and sees Bahamuut standing in front of him.

"I think you should be going now. Your friends need your help."

"But how did you know?" Tyrbane asks.

"That is not your concern. Leave now, or it will be too late!" Bahamut says with haste.

Tyrbane jumps on his horse and heads back east, towards the battle. The horse is swift, obviously, Bahamut had been keeping it active by chasing it. He just hoped the solders were slower. He knew that the fleet would arrive about the same time he did, or slightly after.

----------------------------------------------

cloud711: *Rowin shouts joyously as the soldiers lay at his feet.*
"We showed those bad boys a thing or two, eh Tec."
Just as the words passed Rowins lips the ground started to shake softly. The the shaking became stronger and stronger.

"I don't like the looks of this."

Suddenly a huge group of soldiers is visible coming over the hill, and almost simultaneously two more groups come from both the east and the west.

"This is not good, not good at all."

Rowin and Teclis draw there swords, ready to take as many soldiers as they send as many soldiers as they can to they're fiery graves before the two can not stand any longer.

"They're coming in fast, we don't have much time. "

Now the soldiers are about 100 feet from the two brave travelers.

-------------------------------------------

Sid: Well then... lets just give them a show they will never forget... Rowin, nice working with ya
As the first group of soldiers get close enough to attack... Tec's eyes begin to glow with a fire... and then he raises his sword skyward, and a bolt of lightning comes down to strike the sword and envelop it... Tec points the glowing blade at the soldiers, and 4 of them suddenly burst into flame... there screams of pain reaching the farthest ranks, they fall to the ground, and then they move no more... there corpses still smoking from the spell, the advancing colum halts momentarily in surprise... and all of them are thinking of the same thing...

Magic

Then, they firm up again, and resume there charge against Rowin and teclis, waking over there fallen Comrades... Tec looks over at Rowin, his eyes still blazing "you assult them directly, I will cover you from here, dont worry, you wont be harmed..." And with that, Rowin shouts out his warcry, and assults the soldiers. while Tec continues to launch magic at the soldiers... energy crackling at his finger tips... fire and ice coming in great groups, leaving waking dead in its path... and Rowin's blade slicing through the air... leaving disembered soldiers in its way... but the two slowly begin to tire, for using magic can be just as tiring as fighting with a weapon, and though there are a good 23 soldiers dead on the ground, there limitless supply just keeps pouring in... Tec and Rowin slowly find themselves overwhelmed by them...Teclis realizes his body is begining to reach its limit... having over extended what he could do he sends out a cry to Tyrbane as one last despiration effort... "Tyrbane, we need your help!" With that, Tec blanks out, and falls to the ground, and knew no more...

-----------------------------------------

Merlin: The sun's light beat down upon the field. Suddenly, the sunlight dims greatly, as if something was blocking it. The soldiers look skyward to see what happend and notice a large figure above them. It is too high to make out, but is large enough to cover the sun's rays from reaching them. The soldiers start to turn their heads back towards the ground when they see a man riding a horse on the hill above, holding his sword high. The soldiers laugh to themselves, at the thought of one man coming to fight hundreds. While their gaze is upon the man, three balls of orange light streak down from the shadow above. Not realizing what it was, the soldiers stand there in awe at the beauty of the things. Once they figure it out, it is too late. The pretty glowing balls of light are three large fireballs which strike the soldiers. A hundred die upon the impacts, the rest stand dumbfounded at what was going on.
While this was taking place, the man on the horse charged forward towards the army. The man, Tyrbane, found his comrads and put them onto the horse. The soldiers were so confused they never even notice. Tyrbane kicks the horse in the rear, which then runs back up the hill with the two passengers.

"You fools really don't get it do you?" Tyrbane says to the scared soldiers. "I would suggest that you run, while you have a chance."

Tyrbane looks skyward and sees a large ball of blue energy forming from the shadow. "Nevermind, fools. It is too late! I bid you farewell."

With that, Tyrbane runs up the hill as fast as he can and falls to the ground. As he did, the ball of energy changed to a beam of energy, pulsing towards the remaining soldiers. When the energy beam hits, the ground explodes, sending a shockwave of debris in every direction, almost to the top of the hill. A loud roar could be heard in from the sky as the shadow shrinks. Once out of the direct sunlight, it is quite clear what or whom it was....Bahamut.

When all the dust had settled, and all the smoke had cleared, a figure could be seen down below. Somehow, one man survived the destruction. Somehow, he managed to live through the explosions, standing tall. Tyrbane can hear him laughing, a hideous laugh, filled with sheer joy and anger at the same time.

"Muahahaha," laughed the figure, "do you think your pathetic eidolon could defeat me so easily? You might have killed my little puppets but your 'megaflare' shit didn't even scratch me! You and your friends will die. Oh, how did you like that little premonition? I thought it was quite entertaining myself."

"What?!?"

"FOOL! I was the one who made your little 'Alexandria fantasy'. I was the one who made the 'premonition'. I was the one who called you here. And I will be the one to kill you. The soldiers were a decoy. You think I would let these imbeciles kill you for me? That would be too easy! What would be the fun in that? Bow down to your master!"

The man raises his hand toward Tyrbane, sending some kind of energy force, causing Tyrbane to fall to his knees.

"Enough with your games! Fight me like a man, you cheap wuss! You think knocking me to my knees will make me your servant?" Tyrbane yelled.

"You forget, you already ARE my servant. Your friends don't understand who you are, or what you are for that matter. Mister nice-guy huh? You make me sick! You had such great potential and what did you do? You wasted it helping the needy, protecting the defenseless, making friends with worthless pieces of crap!"

"What are you talking about?!? I don't remember you! I don't even know who you are!"

"Don't you? Are you so eager to forget your past? It has a funny way of coming up and biting you in the ass!" The man began walking towards Tyrbane, geting closer and closer.

Tyrbane was confused, he didn't know what to think. "No! It can't be! You died! I saw it with my own eyes! You and my betrothed! You both died in the blast!"

"Good. You are starting to remember. Welcome home SON!"

"Noooooo!" Tyrbane screamed out, collapsing to the ground and blanking out.

----------------------------------------

Sid: Teclis finds himself alone in the Middle of nowhere... he shakes his head dizzaly, and weakly struggles to his knees... and he runs through the previous course of events in his head... he jumps to his feet quickly, only to be met by a pounding headache...
"Son of a *****... over extended my power..." His head goes to the back of his head... and he casts his eyes round about, looking for Rowin... to no avail... "Where am I?? I last remember was fighting those soldiers, but it seems I was not cought... I wonder where I could be... hmmm..." Teclis begins to walk down the stone path... and notices horse tracks going the other way... he gets to his knees to inspect those tracks...

"Hmm, whoever went this way was in a hurry... I wonder where everyone could be... let me see here..."

Tec gets down to his knees, and begins to meditate... "Must focus... forget all and concentrate on where Rowin is... think, think think...."

Through Tec's mind, he sees a forest glade... and there lies Rowin, and A horse is standing next to him, grazing a stream runs to the side of them... Rowin, though wounded, seems to be alive, and breathing...

"So it seems he is ok, I wonder If I was on that same horse but fell off... hmmm, now where is Tyrbane? Focus..."

Teclis sees a soldier's camp... as he casts his minds eye around... he looks for Tyrbane, fearing the worst... and suddenly he finsds him, shackled in a tent, and what Teclis sees next makes his eyes widen in fury and horror, as he sees the Robed man from the glade again, this time, with his hood revelaing his face... Thats him! thats His father!...

Teclis jumps to his feet only to encounter another headache...

"slow down... hes not here, that is the problem with that spell, you dont see what is near, you see from a minds eye... well, I had better find a Town, so as to plan my next move, but I think I will try and find Rowin first..."

With that, Teclis picks up his Sword, which layed discarded on the ground, and begins to walk/stagger down the path following the Trail...

"Hang on Tyrbane, well be there for you soon enough"

(I've got to go now, I will post the rest when I get back.)

Merlin: Tyrbane awakes to the smell of rotting flesh and rusted metal. He looks down and notices he is chained to a wall. He tries to break free, which normally would be quite easy.
"Don't bother fool. I specially designed those to keep you there!."

Tyrbane turns towards the voice and sees the robed figure again.

"Are you too scared to face me like a man? You have to lock me up so you get free shots?"

"You really are stupider since the last time we met. I think those idiots you hang out with have dulled your senses. You WILL die, but I need to show you something..." The man spins around suddenly and drops the cloak to the ground. What Tyrbane sees is quite startling...HIMSELF!

"But..." Tyrbane tried to say.

"How do you like it? It fits me doesnt it? After my..or should I say YOUR imprisonment, the people of Quel' Thalas forgave me! They discovered that the house was burned down by accident. The poor fools were so sorry they made me their king, that is after the unfortunate death of the original king...Muahaha!"

"You bastard!" Tyrbane yells.

"Oooh, you have your mother's temper! Too bad she also met an unfortunate death before she could be proud of you! There is one thing else I want to show you, but that will have to wait for tonight. Me and my dumbass elven soldiers are having a little party. Too bad they'll all be dead before dessert!"

"Your one sick mutherf..." Tyrbane is cut off before he could finish it.

"Guards! I think this old man needs a lesson in respect! Remember, this is the fool who tried to kill my wife!" said the Tyrbane-look-alike.

Three guards came in and began to kick and punch the real Tyrbane, who was tied up, until he was unconcious.

-----------------------------------------

cloud711: "Are you too scared to face me like a man? You have to lock me up so you get free shots?"
"You really are stupider since the last time we met. I think those idiots you hang out with have dulled your senses. You WILL die, but I need to show you something..."

Rowin wakes up and realizes he was having a vision. He looks around and finds himself lying up against a tree in a deep forest.

"Damn, i need to help Tyrbane."

Rowin staggers to his feet and screams in pain as he sees the gash in his right leg.

"No time to worry about this now, i've gotta help Tyrbane."

Rowin looks to his side and sees the horse standing there. He mounts it and starts riding, not really knowing where to go, just riding wherever his soul takes him.

-----------------------------------------

Sid: Rowin, retracing his steps, or the horses steps from the battle before, finds Tec, lying on the ground, unconsious, and worn out... He slides off the horse, and kneels by his side, noticng a faint breathing... so he picks him up and slings Tec over the horses back,a dn then climbs up behind him... and with a flick of the reigns... races to the settlement that happens to be just visible in the distance... knowing he doesnt have much time for Tec or Tyrbane...
"Hang on buddy, just a little farther..."

Tec wakes to find himself in a bed, bandages over his wounds... and he quickly sits up, only to be met by that annoying pounding headache, so he sinks back down into the bed... "Where am I?" He says out loud to himself, not really expecting an awnser... but hears a farmiliar voice... "In the medical house of the rebellion faction in the town of Lynderia... these people are opposed to the ruler of Quel' Thalas, and are fighting against him... we have found allies my friend, and with there help, we can save Tyrbane, and free them of the evil rule... so you just rest in bed, and get your strength back after a couple of days... ok" But Teclis had already fallen back into unconsiouness

--------------------------------------------

Merlin: The night seemed to come upon the land faster than usual, quickly engulfing the land with darkness.
"I see you are awake" says the old man.

Tyrbane replies sarcastically, "So, when's this BIG surprise you're going to show me, I just can't wait!"

"Oh, you'll be quite surprised. Quite surprised indeed!"

Two guards come into the tent and unchain Tyrbane from the wall. They then quickly tie his hands together to keep him from escaping. The guards also place a robe on Tyrbane, making him look like what the old man used to look like.

Old man Silverhand begins walking to a large tent, much larger than the others. The guards drag Tyrbane behind Silverhand, trying to catch up. The inside of the tent is extrodinary, covered with antique rugs on the walls and a large banquet table in the middle. Silverhand sits at the head of the table and Tyrbane is dragged over to him.

"Let me introduce you to my wife..." the old man says. The old man then turns towards the back and says, "Come dear, over here!"

Tyrbane is quite shocked at what he sees before his eyes---His bride-to-be exactly two years ago is married to his father!

Tyrbane is once again dragged, this time into a corner. He sits there in astonishment, growing more and more angry, becoming more and more outraged. She actually thought that the old man was HIM! The soldiers notice his bewilderment and move in to keep him quiet. As they get closer, they are suddenly blasted across the room, through the tent, and straight into the weapons stock room. Needless to say, a thousand sharpened swords is not forgiving when struck.

"How the hell?" Silverhand asks to noone in particular. "How in the HELL did you do that when you are chained in anti-magic chains?!?"

"I am the game" Tyrbane mumbles.

"What did you say boy?'

"I am the GAME!"

"Um... ok." the old man.

"It's all about the game isn't it old man? It's all abot control and if you can take it. It's all about debt and if you can pay it. It's all about pain, and who's gonna make it. Isn't that what you always taught me, that it is all just a GAME? Who can control the individual the best, who can dish out the most pain?"

"Yes, I suppose so. What is your point?" the old man inquires.

"Well, DAD... I am the game, you don't want to play me. I am control, no way you can chain me! I am heavy debt, no way you can pay it. And of course, I am the pain and there's no way you can take it!" Tyrbane says, almost as if he was singing it.

"Cute little tune, but you see, you ARE chained, you're the one in pain, you OWE ME for all that I have done for you, and you don't play games that well."

Just then, the shackles on Tyrbane fall to the ground, as if they were never locked together. He begins walking towards Silverhand.

Tyrbane says, "You trying to figure out what my move's going to be? Come on sucker why don't you ASK ME?!?"

The old man takes a step back. "What has gotten into you, little boy? You're acting like a crazy man!"

"Isn't this what you wanted father? Someone to follow in your footsteps? Someone who would become more powerful then you?" Tyrbane walks closer, the old man being shoved to the ground by some invisible force. "You forget, there's a price you pay for being evil!"

"How on earth?" the old man mummbles, "You seem to be growing stronger as you get angry! Even so, your powers are no match for mine... MUAHAHAHA!"

Tyrbane thinks to himself: He's right. Even with my increased power, he is still stronger. I wonder what happened to the others? Are they dead? Are they alive somewhere far off? Or are they nearby?

"Getting the shivers? Attack me!" the old man yells.
