TOA Round 2: Grahf VS Kairi

Alright, the first round is done, half of the contestants are gone, only 32 remain, who will win it all? Only time will tell... remember to try and somehow include the fact that the whole TOA is near or in a huge staduim (or surrounding areas for you environmental fanatics) LET the fighting begin!
Ok a reposting of the rules

Quote:
1. NO SIGNITURES!

2. No God Mods... you know the basics, "possesing characters", godlike abilities, cheapo moves, power dodging or Didging killing opponents stuff like that.

NOTE: The small time taking over, for like adding to battle posts are legal, as long as you dont hurt them or whatnot

3. 2 ways to win- Killing your opponent hte legal, way, getting them to accept the win, when you have bested them, or by a judges decision. ACCEPT it... if you have a problem with there decision, then PM me....

4. Judges will post who won, and a short paragraph on why they believe that person won

5. Round 1 starts on Sunday September 8th... and will run till saturday the 14th

Round 2 starts that following sunday

So each tournament round lasts a week, you will have that much time to defeat your opponent. Topics will be closed on Saturday night, or sunday morning... if possible, and the next round will start. This tournament will be done in 6 weeks.
You may begin anytime

Gage watched, as his imminent death came at him in one massive wave of energy, Mugetsu's final attack weighing down upon him. He had a grave feeling about it; he knew that he wouldn't come out completely intact, if he came out at all. For a moment, he contemplated whether or not he should prepare for his death, but the courage somehow welled up inside him to a bloated mass of energy, as he swung his sword at the massive wave, hoping to deflect most of the blow before it encompassed his entire being.

But the wave did not come. Instead, darkness draped over his eyes, his mind slipping into yet another coma. He awaited the dream…

***************

“Second round, huh?” The voice was haunting, but it was familiar all the same. “You strong? Yeah, you’re a tough guy, aren’t you?” Gage couldn’t make it out, but he knew he’d heard it before, perhaps in another life. “So? You think you got it in you…?” the voice trailed, but its message was clear. Somehow, Gage had survived the first round. He questioned how it happened, but he wasn’t one to contemplate fate.

The world stretched and twisted, the blackness transforming to a spectrum of colors and lights. He literally felt his body being wrenched from his comfortable coma, pain thrusting him back into the real world.

**************

His eyes fluttered open, the light flooding through his eyelashes the way a knife would pierce through flesh; painful and unwanted. The sun was out, and Gage had to wander his mind, searching for the last time he ever saw the sun through the clouds in such a beautiful blue sky. At first glance, one wouldn’t know that a war was about to ensue between two already battle warn victors. Gage felt himself over, his wounds completely healed, somehow. He wondered how long he’d been out of it, but the thought slowly trailed off.

His trench coat was heavy and uncomfortable in the harsh red sunlight. He sighed, withdrawing the silver shaft from his right coat pocket, as well as a full pack of cigarettes and his old Zippo from an inside pocket. He smiled, withdrawing a cigarette and lighting it up. He recalled the first round, and how furious he was that he had been so limited on smokes. His smile grew even wider as he removed the coat from his shoulders, revealing his massive arm muscles. The red vest he wore was unbuttoned, and he wore no shirt underneath. He brushed his rippling abs, and wondered where all those wounds from the first round went.

Sticking the smokes and Zippo into one of his vest pockets, Gage gripped the metallic shaft with both hands. The same liquid metal poured out once more, reforming the three and a half foot long blade, completing his lifelong companion, Gladios. He whispered to it, as if it truly listened. “Thanks for getting me through that one, buddy. I’m gonna need your help on this one, too. Don’t worry…it’ll all be over soon.” Gage let the sword rest on the stone floor of the massive coliseum, and for the first time, he realized that he was not alone.

The seats were filling up with people, convinced that they could now see a real fight. Gage was satisfied; standing tall, his red vest and dress pants blowing with the breeze. He ran his hand through his short, jet-black hair, taking a few more drags off his cigarette, while he awaited the arrival of his second opponent…

Loki has levelled up - (lv 1)
The first battle had ended in Kairi's victory, it was not much of a battle since it only took him 5 minutes to achieve victory, but nonetheless, Kairi was about to get serious in the 2nd round, He was determined to win this tournament no matter what, and he knew he had alot of tough opponents to face, but that did not discourage him, not even one bit.

Sitting in a chair in the waiting room, he awaited the call to the field, many thoughts raced through his mind as he held his sword in his lap, brushing it with a whie cloth and watching over with a slight smile. the Katana's blade gave out a shine everytime he carrassed it with the cloth and Kairi's face slightly lighted up as he watched his reflection in the sword's blade. He stood up and held his Katana up high looking at it, he reliazed that this match was going to be tougher than the first, but that was to be expected, the battles were about to get serious, and this time, there was no time to fool around. Quickly sheating his sword, he walked out of his room and into the hall, he began to walk towards the battle arena field, ready for battle. Walking towards the huge door that led to the arena, his expression changed, deep inside he was confident of his skills, but he wondered what opponent awaited him this time.

Finally reaching the huge door that led out of the hall and into the Arena, Kairi looked around, people were already filling the seats before the battle had started. The day was clear, the sun shone brightly down upon everyone, and the clear blue skies gave off a nice and warm feeling, but it was no time to be enjoying the beautiful day, today was the 2nd round of the tournament and Kairi was determined to win this one, no matter what.

Slowly walking out of the door and into the arena, he stops, not too far from his oppponent. Kairi smirks and unsheats his sword from the case, throwing it to the side.
Grasping his sword with a tight grip, he held it up high and pointed towards his opponent, the sun's rays gave off a shine to the sword as Kairi stood right in the middle of the field. His clothes, still the same from the first battle slowly rippled in the fresh breeze that constantly came over the battle field, watching his opponent and analyzing him, he noticed that this man was different, but it mattered not, there was no time to be having thoughts of possible defeat, the battle was about to commence, and tension grew high as the two men confronted each other, both with the intetion to win and pass to the 3rd rounds.

Kairi's grip grew stronger as he watched, slowly, and carefully the man that was before him, his eyes grew narrow, and the smirk he had changed into sinister smile. The silence was there for a few minutes, no one talked nor spoke....but in a matter of a loud yell it broke as the announcer quickly shouted out "BEGIN" for the two fighters to commence the match. Kairi not wasting another second, Quickly dashed towards his opponent, his stance changed, and as he ran he quickly moved his sword in an upward postion above his head, getting closer to his opponent, he tightened his grip, ready for a strong blow as he quickly soared into the air, and decended down upon the man with his Katana in high hopes to get the first blow, aiming for the man's shoulder.

Quite honestly guys... you gave me an intro, and an intro alone to work with, thanks... makes my job VERY easy doesnt it?

NOT

YOu are both very skilled... and there is only one thing that set you 2 apart...

flow...

Im awarding this battle to Grahf because he had a better flow to his intro... it was a bit easier on the reading... Kairi, your intro, in the way you speak it... its just a bit rough, its hard to describe, but it basicly boils down to how well each word fits into the sentance, and how well it goes from one thing to another... its a bit rocky in yer post... partially from choice of words... I think the term is tense changes... or something... I dunno, the barrage of "he's" "Kairi's" and so forth... its using the right word and when to use it... one reccomendation... is to read your post after you type it... and then read it a day or 2 later... so you catch oddities... and edit it when things seem a bit odd...

Just to put Sid's uneasy mind at rest, I agree with him; Flow was the key, and Grahf's flow was much better than Kairi's.

Sorry.
