Peter Jackson's (director of LOTR if someone didn't already know) horror comedy from 1996: The Frighteners. http://images.amazon.com/images/P/07...1.LZZZZZZZ.jpg
"You are SUCH an asshole." "I'm an asshole... with an Uzi!" And now that you are all reading this, it's a good time for me to suggest that you'd take a time to watch the earlier works of mr. Jackson, if you haven't already. Bad Taste http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B0...1.LZZZZZZZ.jpg "New Zealand maverick Peter Jackson made a splash (well, more of a splatter) with this film debut, a slapstick gross-out comedy about an alien fast-food franchise that turns a small town into a cheap source of meat. All that stands in the extraterrestrials' way is the Alien Investigation Defense Service (yes, it's a tasteless gag), a bunch of would-be Rambos who take on the aliens with axes, rocket launchers, and chainsaws. Jackson mines vomit jokes, dismembered corpses, and brain-spattering gore for over-the-top laughs and succeeds with inventive low-budget effects, crack timing, and sheer exuberance" and Dead Alive aka Brain Dead http://images.amazon.com/images/P/15...1.LZZZZZZZ.jpg "Peter Jackson proves that if gory is funny, then excessive gory is downright hysterical. As our hapless hero wades through an ankle-deep puddle of blood and entrails, brandishing a lawnmower like a portable Cuisinart at the climax of this zombie-fest, you'll either be screaming with laughter or fleeing in disgust. Too bad the version of Dead Alive that I have seen was cut approx. 10 minutes. I think the R-rated version in america is cut too. |

I was watching RTR (the NZ Top 20).
And Sundance, I can't believe you forgot Heavenly Creatures! Lol. That movie got Peter Jackson noticed by Hollywood and launched one of NZ's well known actresses, Sara Wiseman (she got asked to stand in for Kate Winslet in a shot, and decided from that she wanted to act). |

![]() Well, in reality I haven't seen it. I guess I should watch it sometime, since I have heard good things about it. |
