Oh yeah.... I also forgot something too: Chinese characters are called Ideograms for a reason: They are connected to meaning, not sounds. A good idea, since there is technically no such thing a shared Chinese spoken language. There is Mandarin and Cantonese.
On another note, it seems that the studio is sure taking their sweet time releasing the Fire Chapter..... not that I'm complaining. It just keeps getting better. It seems more on par with an OVA than a TV show in quality... but I'm no expert and half-blind at that....

My guess with the delay is that the writer's strike caught up. I haven't researched it, but I would imagine their writers would be in the same union and I don't believe the strike has lifted yet.
Regarding the language, Chinese is a group of languages, this is true, but they share various traits as they are all part of the Chinese (I don't know its technical term) branch of the Sino-Tibetan language family. To simplify and generalize for a moment, the Chinese languages are about as close to each other as Spanish and Italian. Fairly mutually intelligable, certainly similar sounds, especially for those that don't know either language and would find spotting the differences challanging. Korean, on the other hand, is an isolated language, but there is some evidence to tie it to the Altaic family that is spoken by the Turkic people throughout central Asia and Turkey. It's definately closer to those languages than it is to any Sino-Tibetan languages, minus loanwords. That couldn't have been more off topic, but I love talking languages.

Umm, I live in Canada and we've had repeats for the last 2 weeks. Episode 14 is with the fire dragons is it not? We saw that episode 2 weeks ago. I assumed you guys were there with us. If not, that's really confusing. Either way, I'm not sure if we're continuing tonight (it airs in my time zone in less than a hour) with a new one or not, but we'll see.

This is going to be a really short post, but it's a repeat this week as well.

The final episode of Avatar The Last Airbender is finished and I loved the whole series, I'm sad that the series is over though. I can't wait for the final season comes out in two months to complete my collection. What a great way to finish the series, I loved every episode from the Aang in the ice through the scene where

Yeah, I liked that as well, but they left a few open endings in the series. I also feel they kinda ended it a bit too fast.

Yes the last episode of Avatar gave the series a good ending and im glad to know Zuko finaly became a good guy. For awhile(I missed a few episodes) i thought Iroh died or somthing....beacuse you dont hear from him for awhile but im glad he was ok. Iroh rules.

yea, it's really good that Zuko finally decided to be a good guy. he really started to kinda annoy me a little bit with his two sides or whatever. I mean c'mon, he needed to decide like 2 and partly 3 books that he is a good guy! but finally he's decidion is over. the best epizode was in book 3 when Zuko and Sokka went "fishing". lol
