Ninja Scroll (series)

I really liked this series, though the ending could have been a bit better. I hardly see anyone talk about it. Maybe there's a reason for it? Anyway, Jubei is the shit. It's true.

What did you think of the Ninja Scroll series?

ummm... i would have to say i was disappointed overall when i compare it to other animes such as: Chrono Chrusade, Peacemaker, Loki, D.N. Angel, and Cowboy Bebop. It was just lacking some the character development that i enjoy.

I have to say it`s almost as disturbing as live footage from the Holocaust.

Why would you be interested in a show littered with a crappy plot, rape, intense gore and violence, ect.

I would recommend Samurai Champloo over this any day. I`m not coming in to flame, that`s my opinion.

Rofl, actually this was a pretty good anime if you loved the Ninja Scroll movie. Anyone else won't get the whole rape, gore, and violence thing. Though this anime wasn't AS good as it's movie, I know there are things it could've added. I mean it was only a 3 disc series, (which is small), but I think it delievered what any Ninja Scroll fan loved. If you don't like that type of stuff then uh, don't watch it.

I've also read some manga's from Chrono Crusade and actually found it quite boring until the guy actually turned into the demon. However it's just as typical as Ninja Scrolls, just given a more kiddie feel. And Cowboy Bebop is a great anime. However, comparing those to this is pointless.

Plot - Decent, a usual typical type of plot you would see in some anime. However, it's not always the story that is good but HOW they tell the story. However they did not explain every character entirely, so you would have to watch the movie to get most of it anyway.

The whole Violence gore thing - Again you'd have to watch the movie to get it. It is NOT for kids, mmk? However I liked the action in it since I'm a kung fu fan and such.

P.S. - I would take the japanese version of Samurai Champloo over the english version anyday, it's much funnier ^_^.

Okay, it`s not for kids, thanks for letting me know that.
All the blood and gore is amazingly unesscary. They could have a realistic amount of blood. A human is too small contain the amount of blood lost in one swipe in that show.

That is sort of a traditional kind of thing for the Japanese. Ever since the late 60's and 70's they had made 'wire-fu' of body-splitting and blood-splattering effects that actually paved some of the action scenes and such we see today. I mainly only agree with that movie-wise because I like it to be realistic, not some blood shooting out constantly like a river. But, it's a hollywood thing. I can tolerate it.

So can I, but it is utterly pointless and not worth my time.

I don`t watch it. That`s why I recommended Samurai Champloo.
Because it`s basically a much better version and it dimmed down all the crappy elements of Ninja scrolls.

I don`t mean they are different versions of the same show. They are the same genre.

Samurai Champloo is almost just as bad when it comes to violence buddy. Well the japanese version, the version you saw on Cartoon Network was most likely a watered down version of it. But this thread isn't about Samurai Champloo even though I like it as much as you. You already said what you think about it, no need to try and smother your opinion over it because you don't like it like other people do.

All I can say is, if you don't like loads of blood, definitely stay as far away as possible from the Kill Bill movies. As a matter of fact, the same folks who made Samurai Champloo made the anime in Kill Bill.

If you haven't seen the anime in Kill Bill, there is way more blood spraying from one single person than there is from every character combined in Ninja Scroll. I don't know, I guess I didn't think the blood factor was that bad.

And don't get me wrong, I love Samurai Champloo. But that's a different story.

Christian Anime Alliance?

Of course they're going to bash it from every angle if it's not as viewer friendly as say, Bobobo-bo bo-bobo. But opinions are like...well, you know the saying.

As she said dude christians will always bash shit like this, but you shouldn't. Many people today find anime offensive and such, but there is one problem...THEY DON'T EVEN UNDERSTAND IT! Posting that link is like joining the christian-anime-haters bandwagon. It's as simple as this, if you don't like it, don't watch it. See here is one thing I don't like about christianity and that is how they push their opinion on others because of their believes. These are what I call "fake christians" because a real christian would not come up to someones face and tell them how sick they think this or that is.

You do not have to like it, but you do have to tolerate it. And here is something just for laughs

Take that!
