I will check it out later.

I just finished watching the 3rd DVD (10 - 13), and it got quite interesting in the end. But don't tell me what happens as I want to see it for myself. Anyway I kind of take back what I said about the voices, I guess it was just wasn't I expected but its not that bad, also I noticed the backround characters all sound like Goku, is it the same person? I wouldn't be surprised.

Spoiler:
It seems to me Gatts is kind of like Squall, couldn't help but laugh at the way everybody is giving Caska shit for being a women, at first I thought she was into Grittith but now that he likes that princess, it will be interesting to see what happens now as she seems rather confused (I got to the bit just before she got raped) as shes always hate Gatts and he is going out of his way to protect her. I need to get the next 1 now lol.

Anyway what is the similarities and differences between the Manga and Anime, is the Manga still going strong? I am rather disapointed to hear it randomly stopped, did it get popular in America or just Japan?

The anime is barely a cup full of violence compared to the manga. They left out SO much stuff, skipped a LOT of parts, and actually toned the violence down quite a bit. However, the anime is still pretty violent when it comes to anime.

I'd say read the manga first, it's AMAZING, not to mention so violent even my friends who could watch any horror movie were disguisted.

I haven't seen much of the anime as of yet but there is a Berserk game for the Dreamcast and it is SWEEEET. Just mindless bloody action. Reminded me of like the old school beat em up games.

It is definitely worth checking out man, I just got the Box of War yesterday and finished watching it and I'll have to say it is some of the best stuff I have seen. There is heaps of blood and guts and even a slight amount of nudity if you're into that kind of thing.

Anyway as I've seen what you mean by the end I think it is a shame they decided not to continue it on, even though the budget was bad it would be great if they did.

Anyway I am going to probably continue on with the Manga, from what I read it was more "magical" than the anime as I saw the faerie on the first and all that stuff. I suppose I should start from the beginning but where does it take off from? Also is the Manga still being made today?

well

I believe the magna and the anime both take off from pretty much the same time. and to my knowledge the magna is still being made and is in it's 32nd or so chapter. I like many hope dearly they make another anime series, or even a movie or something. All 25 episodes of the first are in my opinion THE best anime i have ever seen. I have never watched anything be it anime nor real that got me so completely into the story as this did. the music, voices (yes i actually liked the english dubbed), characters, all worked beautifully in harmony with eachother....damn im so profound lol. shoot, just watching it seemed to make my vocabulary better, case in point my last sentence lol.

Quite true, this is quite possibly one of my absolute favorite animes, if not the greatest of all time! The characters are so deep and all own a vivid and colorful personality that it makes you grow in them greatly...up until Episode 25 that is.

I would want nothing more than to see season 2 started and eventually season 3 (since the story of the manga goes much longer than just one season could encompass). What would interest me the most is to see if they greatly change the animations in a second season (which would either be a make or brake for me).

Personally, I loved all the voice-casting in the english version and I personally think Guts' voice fits perfectly...and considering the guy who does him brings a great deal of humour to the table rather than some stick-in-the-ass Guts personality (which would be like Squall if it was), makes the character Guts that much more interesting. Griffith and Caska also have really excellent voice-actors...hell, all of the characters do. And the outtakes are the funniest shit I have seen in a long time!

I am glad to call myself a proud owner of the Box of War set (which is highly suggestable to anyone wanting to buy the first season on DVD), though I'd love to eventually buy a Box of War set 2...come on Kentaro Miura, don't build us up with such an amazing first season only to cut us off like flinching junkies going cold turkey! It's cruel, inhumane, sadistic, and disgusting to say the least!

I never got around to watching the Berserk anime.

I read up until Volume 10 of the manga and then the site that I used for it shut down, and I couldn't find another.

So, if anyone has scans of the whole series so far, please send me a PM or post here since it doesn't seem to violate site rules.

From what I read, I loved, and I may get around to watching the anime.
Guts is just so freakin cool. Can't say I like Griffith though. Never been a find of anime pretty boys.
