I got one of the Uncut DVDs, and the Japanese voice actors are a bit better than the Eigo cast.... I also noticed that the English dub was quite a sight better in sound quality. I was afraid of that (Being back at Toei....)

I used to love Sailor Moon when I was younger, I always used to watch it. It's not on tv here anymore but I have a movie that I watch every now and then. I haven't seen the Live Action version, I don't think I want to either.

I haven't seen the whole series but I would really like to, I should get the DVD's sometime.

though i watched speed racer years before i learned of sailor moon, i consider bssm my first true anime, since it was the first one i completely immersed myself in. however, shortly after i started watching the dub (around 4th and 5th grade) my cousin came to visit from up north and showed me the glories of uncut and subtitled anime. i've never been the same, and neither has my obsession with bssm. my friends used to call me malachite (because we all played bssm at recess) and i'd scream at them and shout out "no! it's KUNZITE! KUNZITE!!!" before chasing them down and "stealing their energy". oh, this reminiscing almost makes me wish i had a time key of my own, just so i could go back and do it all again, only this time i'd make them bow to me and call me tuxedo kamen! (*insert cheesy tuxedo kamen phrase here*)

I grew up watching Sailor Moon, from first season to the very last, all dubbed in Cantonese. Hooo... I remember recording all of them on tape from laser discs (ya' know, those big ass discs that have two sides). It gave me many perverted fantasies so all is well.

Sailor Moon is pretty good - I prefer the R season (deeper storylines). My favorite character always has been & always will be Amy. She's such a cutie X3

Ami was such an egghead. But she was useful.
English dub=the ultimate injustice to this most sacred series! what Dic did to BSSM was the one single thing that turned me against all dubbed anime. The R season was great in Japanese. Totally sucked in English. True, if it were not for the Dic dub, some of us wouldn't be here now. But certainly those who have seen nothing but the dub must know by now, having the internet and all that good stuff, the correct spellings of the characters names. -.- I pity those who still call them by their english names. it is evil.

Oh come on - The dub wasn't THAT bad I've seen worse dubbed animes

yes. the dub was THAT bad. yes, i've seen worse too, but BSSM dubbed was the straw that broke the camel's back. the voices were so annoying. especially luna and chibi-usa (rini/reeny/reeni/rinee/pink haired evil child of doom). i mean, luna was supposed to sound super cute and cuddly, not like a middle aged woman still suffering from voice fluctuations of puberty. and the little pink haired child of doom... i would have liked her much better if i didn't see her dubbed first. the english voice she has is so annoying that just thinking about it gives me a headache. and esmurade/emerald, her laugh was just... there's no words to describe that horrid screaching sound. on the plus side, when the S and SuperS seasons were dubbed into english, they kept only the good (well, the least annoying and nightmarish anyway) voice actors from the first dub and replaced the rest of the cast with not as bad voices.
on another note, has anyone else heard the rumor that the first six episodes of the last season have been dubbed? I heard that rumor a couple of years ago, but i cannot confirm it.
the first six or so episodes of Sailor Stars completes the Neherenia arch (sorry if you've seen only to the end of SuperS, but Neherenia isn't quite gone yet). from what i've heard these are the only episodes from that season that have been dubbed, the reasoning behind this is that supposedly it was to give some closure to the dub fans, and supposedly these were to air on cartoon network only as a special and not as a regular thing. obviously, that never happened, and i doubt they will ever be seen on CN (simply from the fact that CN no longer runs the series, having replaced the original time slots for toonami with that crappy Meguzi and the slightly better than it used to be Adult Swim). but still, have those episodes been dubbed? if so, why and where are they? and most importantly, how would they explain the 3 new sailor senshi/soldiers (because to call them "scouts" in my opinion would be blasphemy) as well as the appearance of Sailor Galaxia, who reawakens Neherenia in the first place?

Sailor Moon was my first anime as well, like so many. I still like the anime mostly because of how stupid and corny it is. And yes, the dub is bad. I've read all of the SM manga, and I've seen all of the Live Action Sailor Moon, which I love. Seems like most people here don't like it, but I do. Yeah their outfits are really fake looking, but at least they look different in their outfits in the Live Action than they do in the anime. I've got all of the Live Action downloaded on my computer. All 50 episodes, the two special acts, and even a little scene where Mamoru tells Usagi the story of how he became Tuxedo Kamen. That is super cute. Although hearing a little boy say "Tuxedo Power!" 10 times in a row gets a bit annoying. =x Oh, and my favorite episodes in the LA have got to be when Ami gets corrupted by Kunzite and turns into Dark Sailor Mercury. She looks so bad ass!

Ontopic: I've watched this ages ago on Toonami, and the movies as well. I liked the sailor outfits. They were so smexy. My favourite was Jupiter and Mars, hehe. ^^;
