Or when they bitch at you for not smiling when you really are... just because I don't show my teeth doesn't mean I'm not smiling. Not everyone smiles the same way.. and shit, people smile differently depending on their mood. If you think that the average service person is going to smile at you like your their best friend that they haven't seen in ages then you can hang it up. Or "where is my free smile?" The sign doesn't even say that. It means that pleasing the customer is part of the service,
not that the clerk will have a big stupid grin on his or her face.
And yes, I've had people who say things like that... you say "have a nice day" and they think you are being rude to them. If you don't think someone saying that is good enough for you, make your own damn meals, fix your own damn car, and carry your own damn luggage. Have a nice day! XD
