Yeah, that always did it for me. Luckily, I got out of the habit of having a glass of scotch before going to bed.
I had about a two week stretch of insomnia a few years back, which was probably due to the fact that my mother was sick and in the hospital. I was getting about 2 hours of sleep a night, if that. It eventually abated, though.
Other than that, sleeping is fairly easy for me in periods of normal levels of stress. Usually within about 10-15 minutes of going to bed, I'm gone. Some days I'm just plain out zonked, so it's usually a few minutes after collapsing on the bed.
