Hmmm.... well, the Massachusetts area has a wealth of good bands. Hmm.... let's see.
As far as extremely local, I'd have to go with
Thy Will Be Done, formerly known as Kobalt. My uncle is best friends with the singer's brother. That leads to the lead singer always recognizing me but not sure how. Doh. Hehe.
There's also Closer Than Kin... but I can't quickly find any links that will let you hear their music. A few years ago I really liked it. I'll have to listen again to decide now. Hehe.
There is
Unearth, as well. They're among my favorite bands. I could and have listened to their music over and over again.
