Well there is a difference between what a favorite ability is and what the most useful abilities are.
My favorite ability was probably the Geomancers Earth attack, as I liked the Geomancer effects, it reminded me of Mog's Dancing from FF VI.
I also like the Hunters SShot and Critter moves.
However the best ability in the game is most undoubtedly $Toss. You'll only use it when you don't need money anymore or you'll save it for the last battle, and money is irrelevent at that point so why not throw it?
