Final Fantasy X The Dark Aeon
In the Bevelle Ruins
Smoke rose from the Bevelle Ruins. Bodies scattered the ground. Explosions and gunfire could be heard, coming from the center of the city. Fiends prowled the wreckage. The Bevelle Temple was a pile of smoldering debris. The city was destroyed. However, a fight raged on.
Ajax Revan fired his machine gun, blindly, into the air, as a group of Condor's flew by, in the black sky. One of the giant birds was shot through the head and fell to the ground, landing in a crumbled heap on the cracked stone street of Bevelle. Ajax turned around as two coeurl's jumped at him, saliva and blood coated fangs bared. Ajax shot at the couerl's. Bullets tore through the fur, their white fur turning a crimson red. The two couerl's lay on the ground, dead. Ajax changed clips in his machine gun. While he reloaded, a large Dual Horn jumped out of the wreckage of an inn, in front of him. Ajax slowly looked up, to see the ugly face of the Dual Horn, a human arm still in his mouth.
"Shit!" Ajax shouted, as the Dual Horn swallowed up the rest of the arm. Ajax turned and ran, the large creature bounding after him. While running, Ajax managed to pull of a grenade from his belt and load it into his customized machine gun, able to shoot grenades. The grenade loaded, Ajax rolled to the left, the Dual Horn right in front of him. The creature slowly advanced on Ajax.
"Sweet dreams!" Ajax yelled, with a smirk, as he launched the grenade into the Dual Horn's open mouth. The Dual Horn's eyes widened, and after a few second's wait exploded. Ajax shielded his eyes from the gory sight and turned to check on his squad, the Destroyers, an Al Bhed machina unit.
Ajax was the leader of the Destroyers, the Al Bhed's largest and strongest military machina unit. The Destroyers had been following a small band of Yevon soldiers, but lost them in the Bevelle Ruins and stumbled upon these fiends. Now they were trapped.
"Captain! Look out!" an Al Bhed soldier shouted, pointing down the broken street. Ajax turned to look. A huge Iron Giant was stomping down the street, crushing human and beast alike. The giant sword of the Iron Giant, was covered in blood and rust.
"RUN! FALL BACK!" Ajax yelled, motioning for the remainder of his crew to pull back further down the street. Most of the soldiers left their battles and ran back, in fear of the tremendous monster. Several soldiers stayed behind, shooting, aimlessly, at the Giant, their bullets bouncing off of the monster's strong armor. The soldiers were only crushed, along with anything else in the Giant's path.
Ajax and his few remaining men turned down another street, past the flaming, destroyed machina, laying in the middle of the street. Most of the Destroyers machina had been destroyed, the few remaining machina in the outskirts of town, the ruins hard to navigate machina through.
The Giant crashed through the remaining wall of a home, onto the street the survivors were on. The now broken and destroyed tower of the Bevelle temple, blocked the road behind them. They were cornered. Ajax looked around, hoping for a way of escape. Nothing. No way out, they were trapped on the street, in the large ruins of a once great city.
"ATTACK! TRY TO BRING IT DOWN!" Ajax shouted, finding their situation hopeless. Ajax and the four surviving Destroyers started to shoot at the Giant, the bullets having no effect. Ajax tried a grenade, but it only dented the Giant's might armor. The Giant lowered the gap, only twenty feet away from the survivors.
"Damn!" Ajax muttered. "Its not working!" The Giant was almost there. One of the soldiers tried to run under the Giant's legs.
"No, Judda! Don't!" Ajax cried, but it was too late. The Iron Giant crushed Judda under his giant metal heel. Hope was lost. The Destroyers were gone. It appears the others knew, too. Ajax continued shooting, to no avail. The Giant was about to crush them, when...
ROAR!
Bahamut, the dragon-king, one of the mightiest Aeon's, swooped from the sky, a dark aura surrounding him. Bahamut shot down a flurry of dark flame balls, onto the Iron Giant. Rubble and stone was thrown up from the ground. Ajax and the others hit the ground, trying to hide from the blasts. The Iron Giant was hit with several flameballs, and fell apart, giant metal pieces falling to the ground. Eigaar was crushed by the falling breastplate.
Ajax looked up, at the mighty Aeon. The proud dragon circled above them, leaving a dark trail of energy. The dragon was now evil. It wasn't going to let them leave. Out of the frying pan, into the fire...
Meanwhile...
Vivian Revan stood on the deck of the Celsius, Brother's airship, looking out of the glass plate. Yuna and her guardian's, new and old, also stood on the deck, staring out at the wreckage. Vivian watched as the mighty Aeon, Bahamut, the dragon-king, swooped down upon the ruins of Bevelle. The Aeon slammed into the ground, debris flying up, from the spot. Bahamut, with his giant claws, wildly punched and clawed at the ground and surrounding buildings. A large fire burned nearby. A destroyed machina. A moment later, Bahamut looked to the right, looking at something Vivian couldn't see. He planted his claws into the ground. The ring on his back started to rotate, faster and faster. A moment later, a large black beam of energy, Mega Flare, was launched from his mouth, soaring towards the heart of the city. It hit the ruins of the Temple. A large, blinding flash of white light ensued. Vivian shielded her eyes. A few seconds later, she reopened them to look into the result of the energy. Flames engulfed the entire city. Debris, metal and stone was flying all over, falling back to the ground as flaming hulks. Black smoke hung above the city. Vivian couldn't make out anything, anymore. Vivian looked high into the sky, to see Bahamut circling around the city...
Vivian looked away, in tears. She ran out of the control room, into the Hallway. One of the other guardian's, Kira, was about to follow, but Lulu just shook her head.
"Give her time..." Lulu said, smoothly. She turned back, and stared at the ruins of the once-great city, Bevelle.
