Hardly!! don't know what podunk hole you crawled out of but not only can those games still be played on a PS2, outruling the idea that PS2 rpgs are to be flatly considered "next generation", but the medieval genre is what fantasy/rpg fanatics are drawn towards which X barely gave a hint of attention to in the game.
I take Lococolt's word that FFIII is underrated but you said it yourself, it hasn't had it's chance to be "underrated" because of it's availability.
But i voted for IV cause it was the first FF i played and it's pretty original but simple when compared to VI on up. but not as simple as V or II on down so it's much like a milestone in FF series imo..
