Chastity awoke to a strange sensation. She knew instinctively that she could only have been sleeping, but to her it felt as if she had lost time. She didn't really feel well rested. She felt.....displaced. And deep down, the feeling was more than unsettling. She heard a click followed by a woosh of air (an airlock, maybe?). The air that followed ghosted along her skin, causing her to shiver and realize that she was very wet. Now thoroughly confused, she opened her eyes to see what in the world was going on, and made a frightening discovery.
She couldn't see.
Uneasily she sat up and blinked. She could feel the vibrations caused by a room full of machinery, and could hear the faint hum it emitted. She could hear footsteps, could feel the air move and shift about her as people passed. But she couldn't see them. She blinked again, then closed her eyes and shook her head. Yet when she opened them, the world was just as black as it had been when they had been shut.
She struggled to remember. Had she always been this way? Maybe she was always blind. But she knew deep down that wasn't right. If she had always been like this, then she wouldn't feel like she was missing something.
So she asked, quite coldly but also plain, "What happened to me?"
