http://www.the-magicbox.com she is carrying a bow. Also I have seen plenty of the characters wield different weapons, Vaan for example carrying a sword in one picture and a gun in another...
So my theory is that it will be a bit like Final Fantasy VI at that point. The characters being compatible with different kinds of weaponry...
