Actually, Killer Cloud is referring to FF3j, not FF6j, which is what you're referring to. FF6j was released as FF3 on the SNES, when in reality, it was actually the sixth. Since they didn't release FF2j or FF3j on the NES, when it came time to release FF4 on the SNES, they decided to rename it to FF2, because otherwise, the US games would have gone straight from 1 to 4, which would have been weird. FF5 wasn't released either, so when FF6 was released, they called in FF3 here in the US. But it's actually FF6. Yes, that's confusing, but that's the way it is.
Anyway, I honestly couldn't say why they didn't rerelease FF3j on the Playstation. It's a good game, far better than FF2j, so yeah. Good news, though: they're supposed to be rereleasing FF3j on the Game Boy Advance (or SP, I forget), so keep your eyes out for that.
