Serafina chuckled, watching the small sprite twirl happily and zip through the pouring rain, towards the fort. Cute thing, a little insane, a tad on the spastic side, but none the less, cute. The soldier trudged the last few steps that separated her from her new home quickly, stopping only as she heard the voice of who she assumed was their new commanding officer. She then stood and waited for orders, soldier issued duffle bag shouldered, fist on her hip, and hair plastered to her face.
“Fall in!”
The hybrid lined up with her new comrades, shoulder to shoulder with the others. This had been drilled into her head so many times she could probably do it in her sleep. Her eyes stared blankly ahead, unmoving, unwavering, unblinking. Her nose scrunched up as an unusual smell tickled her nose. Was that….their commanding officer? Damn, SOMEBODY doesn’t want to do laundry! She suppressed the urge to laugh as Captain Telgar began laying down rules and informing them of their sleeping arrangements.
“Fall out!”
Serafina’s muscles immediately relaxed, life entering her eyes again and a smug smile tugging softly at her lips. Now that that was over, she could get dry and grab some grub! She sprinted the three steps to the fort and shook her hair out, afterwards proceeding to wring out the remaining water. “I hate being rained on,” she commented to herself. She looked up and found Annelise, grinning sheepishly. “Gawd I’m starved! Wanna go get some food?”
