Thee single most annoying battle I've ever fought had to be the Magus Sisters in FFIV. They killed me several times, even after I figured out I had to kill them in a certain order. Mainly because I had to kill them all at about the same time.
The next one had to be Ozma just for the simple fact that it cast Curse. This spell was the only thing that kept that thing from dying in an instant.
