2ndPower has levelled up - (lv 1)
The beam was coming at Rail much too fast for Rail to dodge, so Rail would have to think of a way to block it. He called upon his nature magic to influence the area around him. Rail's magic gave him power to control his environment, and this Gray had put fire into the environment. Rail collected the fire spouting from the ground into a solid form and collected it right in front of him, forming a sort of fire shield. The beam hit Rail's fire shield, then burst through a moment later, but the shield had bought him enough time to leap out of the way. Cobalt had said to refrain from hitting him with regular attacks, so Rail brought his spiritual axe to bear, and rushed at Gray, swinging many times. Gray dodged every swing. Gray swung his claws at Rail. Rail stepped out of the way, but a little too late. He roared in pain as Gray scored a glancing blow on his left arm, slicing through a bit of flesh. Damn, those claws were sharp! It would only take one solid hit for Gray to finish Rail, and Rail was already exhausted from his fire shield trick. Fire was a wild element, and both commanding it and forcing it into a solid took great amounts of energy, especially as fast as he did it. Rail feinted to the left with his axe, then brought it in from the right with all the speed and strength he could muster. The axe went through Gray's neck, leaving no scratch or cut, but causing Gray to stagger back. "Wow," thought Rail, "that slash should have severed fool dragon's soul from his body, but it is still there. Fool dragon is even stronger than he appears." As Gray was staggering, Rail used his magic to affect the earth, calling it up underneath Gray. The earth formed itself around Gray's feet, holding him in place. It would only take Gray a few seconds to rip himself free, but it bought Rail a small amount of time. "Tower better fall soon, or Rail's in trouble." Rail thought.
