Hmm... I assume this all-consuming darkness would be coming up within the next dozen posts, since there would be no apparent reason for your characters to be drawn together beforehand, yes?

I may bring myself into things shortly after the "big event," because it would be really easy to jump in at that point in time. I can come from who-knows-where, and share a common goal with the rest of the characters. Consider my character a mercenary, who would go out on his own if not for the fact that you guys decide to give him a nominal fee to help you out.

Not to destroy a future plotline or anything, but my idea is that this mercenary character could, at some point down the road, reveal that he's been working for Dr. Bach the whole time before disappearing in order to deliver the information he's collected on you. From there, your chase moves from one of Dr. Bach to one of the mercenary, as you know he'd end up leading you right to the doc anyway.

Just a thought, and if you already had another idea for the plotline, this doesn't have to happen at all. I just thought it might make a nice little twist for your game, let alone the RP.
