I've learned not to judge games for their graphics, and when i finished FFI and IV, I was happy cause they didn't had beautifull graphics, but they actually had a good enough story to keep me attached to the game.
I felt involved with the characters, feeling what the would feel.
This is something that FF does quite well, even in its origins, in the NES.
