Name: Pokepoke
Planet of Origin: Nameless Planet (languageless species) - 10 lightyears from the Pudding nebula.
Species: Pokepoke is a Bon-Ton; a slug-like creature with very strong telekinetic powers. They have a tubular body with a pointed tip on the end and a rounded head. They're about 5 feet long, bend to face upward about 2 1/2-3 feet high. their bodies are about 2 feet in diameter - getting large in the middle and then tapering at the end. Bon-Tons have no mouth, no eyes, no nose, no ears, no expression. They never touch the ground - rather they hover, about 1 foot above it. Whenever they use their telekinetic powers to communicate or to do anything else, where their face would be an orange glow erupts from under their slimy, frog-like, dark green spotted skin. They do not communicate using words - rather they can successfully communicate great amounts of information via the telekinetic transfer of pure thought. Ideas and images flow between the minds of all Bon-Tons. Because of this lack of language their planet has no name, and neither do the individual Bon-Tons themselves. In fact, their entire race was named Bon-Ton by a passing group of marauding space pirates. After trying to catch one for food, they left the planet in a frightened hurry, later writing anonymously in the Universal Space Travel guide "Stay away from the Nameless Planet 10 lightyears from the fading side of the Pudding nebula! Unless, of course, having your insides split open from within your unbroken skin sounds appealing!".
Era: Pokepoke lives in a time which, while still relatively undisturbed, the Nameless Planet and race of Bon-Tons have been discovered and documented by the outside universe. While it may take some time, it still places him at the beginning of the twilight of his race. While the immense telekinetic powers of the Bon-Tons may frighten away seedy pirates and upper class twit space paraders on jubilee ship rides through the cosmos - eventually serious humanoids with serious weaponry will strike well outside the range of the telekinetic powers of the Bon-Tons and even a race so powerful and mysterious will be crushed beneath the cold steady hand of greed.
Family: Bon-Tons all emerge mysteriously from the Cave of Origin; a singular spawning point for the entire race. They drift slowly away from it's massive mouth, floating through the use of involuntary telekinetic signals acting upon them. Eventually the stark hands stop pressing them forward, and their faces light up orange as they first become aware of their own existence. All memory of conception and the cave are lost, as they are freshly born into being. However, something deep within every Bon-Ton tells them to NEVER return to the Cave of Origin. Because of this, no Bon-Ton know where they come from at all, even though they are a race infinitely more intelligent than most creatures in the galaxy (humans included). They all go about their life on their rocky planet - sharing music, images, and the spark of imagination without ever uttering a single word, or even telepathically constructing words.
Weapon: Only his mind, and his mind acting upon the environment around him. He can propel rock with his mind for example, paralyze a foe, transfer his energy to another location to avoid a swift attack, or float high in the air. However, such use of this power is a strain on the Bon-Ton's metal powers - every 3 or 4 "moves" (including dodges) he need to find a place to make contact with the ground, where he can replenish his supply of life force energy from deep within it's mysterious dark green body. This can take up to 2 minutes.

Name: Chase Pritchard
Planet of Origin: The pirate colony inside the abandoned space station DX-27.
Age: 22 Earth years.
Occupation: Space Pirate
Race: More or less human - just not an earthling.
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 150lbs
Hair: Short and black, with a single ultra-thin braid about 18" long coming down the left side of his hair.
Clothes: Dark blue jumpsuit with a utility belt at the waist. He wears energy rounds for his data communicator, and packets of food and water stored in box like containers lined like two sashes making an X across his chest.
Equipment: Chase wears a data communicator over one eye - it interprets the telekinetic thought patterns of the Bon-Ton Pokepoke into understandable language. His outfit is that of any typical space pirate. His main weapon is a massive two handed sword that he wears on his back. The only other are three to five throwing knives on his belt, and a large skinning dagger strapped to his left boot. The sword is electrically charged, and will shoot back an opponent if they are foolish enough to let it touch their bare skin. The daggers and throwing knives are charged similarly.
Chase's utility belt also has some combat technology built in to help give him the edge in a universe filled to the brim with magical abilities and secret techniques a lowly space pirate could never hope to possess. These include a standard shot-grapple, a high grade light class shield telekinetic/physical shielding device, spark tacks (small electrically charged spikes that can be scattered on the ground to injure, trip up, and eventually electrocute an opponent), small smoke bombs, and a 'last resort' device - a small hole is revealed in the center of the belt's buckle, and flames erupt from within it for 10 seconds. This is a one-shot weapon and can cause harm to the wearer of the belt as well as anyone in close range. His boots also have gravity boosters, allowing Chase to hover a short distance (10 feet or so) off the ground. This can't be done for more than 30 seconds or so before the boots need to recharge.
Background (Relation to Pokepoke): Chase Prichard is a space pirate from the DX-27 space station - a place infamous as being home of one of the most ruthless and feared space pirate clans - The Exit Captains. He grew up in many pirate ships, learning hard lessons about the gritty realities of space piracy from a very young age. During a visit to a yet-uncharted-planet 10 lightyears off the fading side of the Pudding Nebula, his captain and crew were attacked by the native inhabitants. This race of slug-like telekinetic creatures were dubbed "Bon-Tons" by the pirate group. Only 13-year-old Chase and 3 others survived the psychic maiming of the Bon-Tons - but Chase was forevermore ensnared by the mystery of the Nameless place, and the powerful Bon-Ton race.
7 years later Chase returned - this time a young man in his own ship. Using telekinetic shielding and tractor beam technology he was actually able to capture and study a Bon-Ton. He named it "Pokepoke," after the slight poking sensation he would feel inside his own brain whenever he was near the creature. Through advanced telekinetic technology developed using stolen parts from an alien race advanced even beyond the Bon-Tons, technowizard Chase began to communicate, and eventually befriend, the Bon-Ton Pokepoke.
Working as a team (the Bon-Ton largely not knowing the humanoid ideals of 'right and wrong') they've spent two years becoming the richest space pirate pair in the galaxy. One day while traveling through space, however, both were mysteriously beamed out of their space craft and woke up in a new and strange place. Cold metal surrounded them, and the light was white and pure. Chase rubbed the back of his head as he looked over at his companion Pokepoke through the fog of hibernation sickness. He was asleep. Suddenly a voice boomed from overhead "WELCOME TRAVELERS, TO THE TOURNAMENT OF ARMS..."
