Name: Tobias
Race: Cherubim - Winged creatures that bear a resemblance to humans. They possess dove-like wings on their back that allow them to fly. These wings can grow to a length of two to six feet.
Origin: Astera - A planet dominated by Cherubim. Their society is of a caste system with a single ruler. The City of Astera spans across the entire surface. Because the Cherubim are capable of flight, the structures of the City are built above ground, supported by vertical columns (think Jettsons). This frees up the ground for wildlife, and more importantly, farmland, which are tended to and harvested by members of the lower castes.

Description:

• Hair: Straight, blonde, falls just below eyebrows
• Eyes: Blue
• Wings: 2' wide, white

Equipment:

• Astera - A longsword decorated with the Crest of Astera, given to members of the Divine and ruling family. Its blade extends four feet from the hilt. The Seal of Astera allows Tobias to wield the sword with a single hand, while requiring two hands without it.
• Seal of Astera - A necklace that bears the Crest of Astera. In addition to its function as a sort of authoritive badge, it provides the wearer with energy, increasing his or her stamina. The Seal also allows its wearer to wield the Divine's heavy equipment without difficulty.
• Aegis - Shield bearing the Crest of Astera, given to members of the Divine and ruling family. The shield measures three feet in height and two feet in width. Without the Seal of Astera, Tobias would be unable to lift Aegis due to its weight.

Abilities:

• Flight - Tobias's wings, although small, grant him the ability of flight. Due to the size of his wings, his aerial movements are simple and his ability to glide or hover is limited.
• Divine Powers - Tobias's training under the Divine has allowed him to release and wield energy in a variety of ways. Because of the Divine's influence, this energy is released in the form of light and holy attribute attacks. The amount of energy he can release at any one time is relatively small, but he does contain a significantly large energy capacity.

Background: Tobias is the descendant of the ruling family, the son of King Evandar, and is prince of Astera. Unlike most Cherubim whose wings are gray or brown, Tobias's wings are pure white, albeit small.

Tobias disliked his position as future king. He preferred to fly freely among the other Cherubim rather than be educated and supervised under the Divine, a group of elite Cherubim with superior wisdom and strength. However, he respected his father's wishes and devotedly studied and trained in preparation for kinghood.

After the uprising and King Evandar's death, Tobias was crowned king at the age of nine (equivalent to 18 on Earth).

Name: Damion
Race: Fiend - Cherubim born with black wings. They are treated as inferior in Astera and are of the lowest caste.
Origin: Astera; Year 800
Description:

• Hair: Straight, silver
• Eyes: Green
• Wings: 6' wide, black

Equipment:

• Bastard Sword - The sword used to slay Astera's king. Its blade extends 3'6" from the hilt. Its black guard is shaped in the form of wings that resemble his own.
• Gauntlet - A protective leather glove, reinforced with steel bars, that covers the forearm.
• Third Wing - A broad, flat weapon resembling a short, toothless saw. The blade is similar to that of a boomerang and behaves as such when thrown correctly. It is sheathed on Damion's back and is drawn from the side.
• Kris - A small dagger concealed in Damion's gauntlet. Its waving blade extends ten inches from the hilt. The compartment it is stored in coats the blade with a paralyzing poison.

Abilities:

• Flight - Damion's black wings grant him the ability of flight. Due to the size of his wings, he is able to maneuver quickly and with a variety of movements.
• Shaded Powers - Damion's training under the Winged Fiends has allowed him to release and wield energy in a variety of ways. Because of the Fiends' influence, this energy is released in the form of shadow and dark attribute attacks. The amount of energy he can release at any one time is significantly large, although his energy capacity is limited.

Background: Fiends are of the lowest caste. In accordance to the law, the wings of a Fiend are to be removed after birth. Damion, however, was born under the supervision of a revolutionist group of Fiends beneath the City, where he was allowed to escape such a fate. The group was raising winged Fiends for a planned rebellion.

Damion proved to be a powerful force in the uprising that occured nine years (equivalent to 18 Earth years) after his birth. He displayed incredible aerial maneuverability and strength. He became a natural leader among the winged Fiends, leading them successfully to the Sanctuary, where King Evandar resided. There the winged Fiends fought valiantly against the Divine. Damion had slain King Evandar before the rebellion was finally suppressed, after which he and the surviving winged Fiends were imprisoned and sentenced to a painful death.
