Square Enix describes the game as "yet another facet of Final Fantasy XIII". Much like Final Fantasy VII: Before Crisis, this game will take place in the same world as it's parent game (ff13), but will be independant from the others.
Final Fantasy Agito XIII is being developed as part of the overall FF13 project. The project includes Final Fantasy Agito XIII, as well as Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Versus XIII.
