Square Enix has secured yet another number one in Japan with a Final Fantasy title, following the success of Final Fantasy Tactics on PSP in May and Crisis Core, this week's number one debut is by Final Fantasy Tactics A2, a sequal to 2003's Final Fantasy Tactics Advance on the GBA.

Famitsu Awards FFXII Game of the Year

Final Fantasy XII (and Pokemon Diamond/Pearl) was given the Game of the Year award from Japanese game publication Famitsu. I believe it deserves it, which I'm sure most of you can agree. It appears that Nintendo games cleaned up, as well. Here is the full article.

Final Fantasy XIII Confirmed for 2008

In a recent interview, Nomura confirmed to Famitsu magazine that FF XIII won't be coming out in 2007, and that the new release date is set for 2008. The best explanation is that they still have some other projects to finish before being able to fully focus on Final Fantasy XIII.

Square Enix has announced that they will port a FFT remake for the PSP. The port will include better graphics, new jobs, and other subtle changes. In addition, SE has also announced Final Fantasy Tactics A2 as part of the new "Ivalice Alliance".

Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings

Some new Jap. scans have surfaced showing some of the new art/gameplay for FFXII: Revenant Wings on the DS. Vaan and Penelo are both cenetered in this game as sky pirates. Revenant Wings is set for release sometime next year in Japan. No official release dates have been released yet.

Released just last week (October 31st), Final Fantasy XII has reached a franchise record-breaking 1.5 million copies shipped to retail outlets throughout North America. This doesn't mean that SE actually SOLD all these copies, but none-the-less, still a crowning achievement.
