Square Enix recently announced that the release date for the highly anticipated Final Fantasy XIII will now be April, 2010 for North America and UK. Square Enix just announced a new remake of Final Fantasy Legend II for the Nintendo DS. The game was originally released for the Gameboy way back in 1991 (US) as part of the SaGa series. At the time, Final Fantasy Legend II was a rather impressive game with a soundtrack composed by both Nobuo Uematsu and Kenji Ito for over 12 unique worlds to explore. The remake will look much similar to FFIII and IV for the DS with character designs by Gen Kobayashi of The World Ends With You. Expect to see this game available in the US later in 2009.

The game can be played multiplayer with users of both consoles playing together, and the graphics are quite similar on each. The game's controls are reminiscent of those of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates on Nintendo DS and the players can make a personalised hero (including armour and equipment with a tailored appearance) from the races of Clavats, Lilties, Selkies or Yukes.

Corporate Director Shinji Hashimoto and series Producer Yoshinori Kitase spoke with Kikizo about the fan complaints. "I'd rather they not think of this as a 'betrayal' or disappointment," Hashimoto explained. "It's not like we're canceling or delaying the PS3 version at all! It's more of an added bonus for 360 fans. We won't be putting them at a disadvantage in any way." Kitase added that "the PS3 version is what's in development right now, and the team is working to specialize that version to the very best of the PS3's abilities" and stated that there wouldn't be a "decrease in quality as a result of the game appearing across two platforms.

As a frame of reference "Advent Children" is 101 minutes long, but the demo, which will come on a separate disc, is reported to be longer than the movie! The latest Famitsu has supposedly confirmed this, and furthermore, we learn that the demo will "be based on the opening section of the game," unlike the FFXII demo that came with Dragon Quest VIII. If that's not incentive to pick up the "Advent Children" Blu-Ray Collection, than absolutely nothing is. You just ain't a FF fan.

Even though I'm new, I guess I'll put up a new topic concerning Agito XIII's recent platform changes if none of ya'll have heard yet (but I'm sure ya'll have) and a thread to discuss in. On August 2nd, 2008 Square Enix announced Agito XIII to be available on PSP. This in turn has marked questioning of if they will continue with Mobile plans for Agito XIII as before.

Final Fantasy XIII, part of Square-Enix's Fabula Nova Crystallis, has been put on hold so the development team can work on Final Fantasy XIII itself.
